Question about Infinity Car Audio & Video
Infinity sound system factory installed in a 2003 Kia Optima now has a cassette tape stuck in the player. I don't have a manual to see how to properly remove the tape without damaging the player. Help, please.

The cassette adapters are notorious for getting stuck in the deck. More often than not its the wire that comes out of it that causes it. The cleanest and safest way to remove the cassette adapter is to remove the radio, take off the top and "Help" it eject with your fingers or some narrow tool that may get behind it to push it forward and out. If you dont want to take the deck out of the dash, you can try pushing the eject button while manipulating the adapter wire, but I dont recommend it. Its just better to take the deck out. Good Luck

SOURCE: Please help me, I have a
did the error code start with the tape getting stuck? i have heard that if you disconnect the battery for 5-10 minutes it will reset the radio but make sure you have a code for it to unlock it it the radio has security. they say it starts working again if you do this. again this is just what i have heard a toyota tech say when i worked there. it may be that it knows it has a problem with the tape and keeps it inop, as far as getting the tape out, it either breaks the tape or the tape player or both. i worked at a car stereo shop for 10 years and very rare for both to survive.
