Because the tile was added after the valve was set to correct depth, you will have to get a extention kit. They are only available at a supply house. This will extend handle further away so the handle wont scratch any more.

Can anyone tell me what material Sterling make their bathtubs out of? Does it last?

Their bathtubs are made from solid Vikrell material. In theory that makes them stronger and more durable and therefore should last longer. Handle came off in shower. Put back on & can't turn water on...

On some faucets there is a set screw at the base of the lever and others have a set screw under the top cover. It sounds like your handle worked itself out and when you put it back on you didn't tighten the set screw. So the lever is turning but not engaging the valve stem.

sounds like you will have to remove the tile and shower pan. The pan needs to be level along all walls. Use a level. I had to cut wood shims to support the pan and keep it level before screwing it to the side walls

My lever on my single handle kohler shower faucet is very, very loose. How do I tighten the lever. I don't see any screws or place for an allen wrench

There should be a screw hidden under a cap. depending on the model/style it may be as small around as a pencil diameter or as large as a half dollar (the larger is most common on acrylic handles) Just gently pry this off and you should find a phillips screw underneath.

Delta monitor shower handle. Took off set screw and can't pull off handle. It is stuck. Ideas

If your handle has a lever, then lightly tap it with a rubber mallet till it moves a little. You should tap it towards the wall. Once you moved it a little, pull it back with your hands. Repeat this till you are able to get enough play to wiggle with your hands and pull off. Be gentle. Hope this helps!

One tile in the first row up from the tub fell out and the wall behind where the tile came out is soft and not ridged at all to glue the tile back in place the wall is plaster nd lath im letting it dry...

Wetted plaster often dries out like dry sponge cake. When dry try a spray of 25% pva solution. This soaks in and solidifies and stabilizes the plaster.
Whatever you do keep it dry from further water

recalculate the distance, taking into account of drywall, tiles.
if you follow the instruction and the valves are at the indicated line, then you should be OK.
take a piece of scrap drywall and a piece of tile lay it next to the rough in just the way you would have when it is all finish. if it is till too far out, then you have to push the pipe backing back to adjust the distance.

hope that helps
