Question about Sony VAIO VGN-T250P/L Notebook

1 Answer

I was told that there was a recall by Sony for their VGN-T250 because there were problems with the motherboard, Is any of this true as there is a multitude of issues with this laptop. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sony Vaio vgn-fs640w does not power up nor does it

I went to the Sony Vaio support site for your model specifically and they mention a battery recall. There is a place on the site requiring specific information about your system and your battery to see if you are eligible for the recall. I would try this route to see if it resolves your issue. If not, I would say it is a blown transistor and you need to replace the motherboard. This means buying a new system, as Sony VAIO laptops are very proprietary and hard to find parts for.

Good Luck,

I have a vgn110e/s ac adapter stopped working bought an after market and cannot get power? Help!

Does the after market adapter have the same voltage as the Sony adapter? If so, then you may need to have your power plug in the Laptop repaired. $50 ~ $75. ( and btw, I would do it, since this is a really nice laptop ).

The most common problem with laptops that dont get power? The power recepticle on the motherboard is broken. ( Its true of the laptop I am currently using. If I move wrong, the AC stops, and the batter kicks in. ).

Added memory to laptop, nothing on screen now

remove the memorys and check the memory slots for any damaged pins .test the memory one by one on 2 slots(power off place one memory on slot1 and power on then do that procedure on slot2 ) if the laptop boot, one memory or one slots have problem and you can work with another one ,if you didnt see the boot screen at all try to reset the Bios .
if still dont work have to repair or replace the mainboard.

Need to replace sound card for Sony vgn-t350p

It's true that with a laptop, replacing some parts means replacing the motherboard as they are integrated parts, this applies with the sound card. If your laptop is under warranty then you should be able to get it fixed, otherwise you need to weight the cost of replacing the motherboard verses buying a new computer. Seeing as how the motherboard in a laptop is pretty much half the computer, it may be cheaper to buy a new one.

Motherboard

We try to repair as opposed to replace as it costs less generally. What is your system doing/Not doing? Dead? Led's w/ No POST/Boot? Post back please..
