When the absorber is full, you need a shop to replace the absorber pads and reset the waste ink counter. In our shop the pads are $19.95 and the labor is $69.00. Sorry about the first stupid answer to your problem.

Says "Used ink tank full". Light blinks and won't print. No idea how to empty.

It sounds like you refiled an empty ink tank. The printer will refuse to accept ink cartridges that have been used and refilled. Unfortunately there is only one easy option: Buy a new cartridge. If it is a new cartridge and has not been refilled (straight out of the box), contact the supplier (where you got the cartridge from).
Good Luck!

Color not correct and lines in print

Have you tried the cleaning function? It is usually accessed via the Canon software that you would have loaded when you first installed it on your computer.

See Canon instructions:
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=SupportDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=232&modelid=9387&kbpage=yes

Have a look here:

http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/inkjet/59376

and here:

http://www.howtofixcomputers.com/forums/how-guides/canon-i860-print-head-removal-cleaning-210868.html

If you don't use the printer regularly the ink can dry up block the 'very' small inkjet nozzles. Occasionally people have problems when using generic non-genuine ink cartridges, but I have much experince with re-filling Canon ink cartridges and they are much more user friendly then the durabrite ink cartridges used in Epson printers.

Cheers,
Steve

One of the colors, yellow, on my canon i860 will not print

The Canon i860 holds the cartridges in an ink carrier.
Remove all of the cartridges, making note of the order that they go into the carrier.
Squeeze the sides of the carrier and lift it out.
Place a small amount of rubbing alcohol in a glass dish and dip the bottom only of the carrier into the dish.
Repeat this and see the old ink flow away from the carrier.
Blot the carrier on a paper towel by lifting and pressing it against the towel.
Once it is dry and clean, place it back into the printer and replace the cartridges.
While you are replacing the cartridges, look to see that they have liquid ink in the right side of the cartirsge. If not, replace that cartridge.

My Canon i860 just can't print out black words, it's frustrating

pull the ink cartage back out to see if a clear film is not on the cartage??? Check the area by cleaning the ink cartage with rubbing alchole, and also the area that the ink cartage goes into. Use a cotton ball the clean these area with.

The yellow ink doesn't print although the ink shows full

Hi there! are you using original canon ink cartridges? if so, your cartridge might have defects, try to replace your cartridge with a new one. If you're using compatible ink cartridges try to replace it with an original canon ink cartridge. Have a good day!
