    Sorry for being too cryptic.
In Control Panel>Display>Settings>Screen Resolution there is a sliding scale from a minimum pixels of 800by600 to maximum of 1024by768. When I select the maximum setting, as recommended by the store that sold me the monitor, the program window and text size in it are both reduced, but do not extend back to the monitor screen edges. The blank panels remain.
I hope I have explained the problem fully.

Hi Sean B. I've now familiarised myself with the AOC User Guide but I'm having trouble with installing the driver for model 2036Sa. I am assuming that the reduced width frame size is probably due to my computer still operating on my old monitor driver which was pre-installed when I bought the computer.

I have gone through - several times - the User Guide for installing the driver but cannot progress past Step 10 which requires me to click on the Have Disk button. My computer will not bring up the next box

  • raykeall Oct 06, 2009

Sean B. - that referred to the Screen Resolution slider in Display Properties. As that idea did not work I have now discarded it as a solution.

My feeling is that the problem might be connected with the driver, which I am having trouble installing from the CD. User Guide provides a list of steps to follow - but after step 10 the next dialog box is not the one in the User Guide. I am working on a description of what is happening here - which I am finding confusing. More to come Ray

Hi Sean - In the User Guide for AOC monitor 2036Sa I cannot advance beyond step 10 (which contains the Have Disk button. When I click on this I get a dialog box "Install from Disk" with the instruction to "Copy manufacturer's files from" box. This is loaded with Hard Drive A:\ which I change to E in which I have inserted the AOC disk. When I click Browse I get another dialog box "Locate File" which contains a box with an "open" button. In that box is ".inf". I get no response when I click on "Open'
This is where updating the driver stalls and I can get no further. I have repeated the whole process over and over but without any progress.

Effects not working on Behringer PMP4000 monitor

Normally, on mixers, Effects do NOT go to Monitors.
What you have to do is
(check if there is a control for "EFF to MON" before)....
*Make a cable bridge from EFF OUT to any channel of your inputs.
*Now you can send the EFX to monitors as you would any signal.
Be mostly happy....

Having changed the os from xp to xp pro i am unable to alter the screen resolution. Any help appreciated.

Go into control panel, click display, settings on the top right, set the color quality at max and the screen resolution also at max, click okay to save settings and monitor should adjust accordingly, if not set monitor to auto setup.

I have HT-SS2300 Home Theater. I have to set the sound on MAX just to hear it at normal level. It is hooked up with digital sound cable.

Using its internal FM how does it sound? (No cables involved). What about speaker calibration, testing and setup?

Is MUTING ON? Turn it OFF.

Never use MAX volume for anything. If you finally move the control or otherwise resolve the problem you'll damage the speakers.

Need to increase font size without effecting pixel clarity

The first step for optimal readability is to set your PC's graphic output to the native resolution of your monitor.
The Samsung 2033SW is a little unusual in this regard since it provides a matrix of 1600 x 900 pixels, which is not very common.
If your graphics board has DVI output, I'd also make sure to use a DVI cable to connect to the monitor instead of VGA.

Windows XP and above support a font rasterization technology called "ClearType", see This page also provides references to the ClearType tuner PowerToy for XP, which is available to Windows users at no extra charge. Windows 7 has a control panel for ClearType out-of-the-box.

If you still need to increase font size, you can increase it from the Display Control Panel, too, "Medium" font size scales to 125'%, "Large" fonts to 150% the normal size.. Changing the DPI (dots per inch) setting in the monitor control panel cannot be recommended since some software cannot cope with alterations here (dialog boxes or user interfaces with text in wrong places or sticking out of the window... yeeks.)

It looks very dark

The fault could be a faulty inverter board or a faulty CCFD lamp.
The inverter supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp. The CCFL lamp is a mini fluro lamp and can dim with age.

I have video card GF 6200 256 MB. but my computer have problem, until install driver by CD.. My Computer blink-blink, and my pixel in my monitor crash.. But untill uninstall driver in safe mode.. my...

One possibility is that when you install it, the screen resolution is automatically going higher than what the monitor can handle.
A fix could be going into safe-mode, not uninstalling the driver, and setting the resolution to the right clicking on the desktop and selecting properties.

After this reboot in normal mode, an manually increase the resolution to the max that the monitor can handle and not just the video card which normally can go higher.

What is the effect of increasing the angel between two vectors to be added on magnitude of their resultant?

Resultant of addition of two vectors A and B is calculated as the square root of (square of A + square of B + 2AB cosx) where x is the angle between the two vectors.

If the angle between the vectors increases, we need to keep in mind the behaviour of cos for different values of x. The resultant be maximum for x=0 and continue to decrease till x=180 but will again increase to a max value for x=360; the same as for x=0.

I had a similar problem with this monitor, mine was dim all the time to the point you cant use it, but the MENU icon was bright as new... also if cable was unplugged the box would float around as normal.... anyway I fixed it by taking it all apart and pushing in the socketed chip.. it clicked like it moved, I also pushed on the variable resistors on the power supply... now it works!!! First time since it quite working long time ago
