S3 Savage 2000

I am receiving the following error message: 'The device driver for the 'S3 Savage 2000' device is preventing the machine from entering standby. Please close all application and try again. If the problem persists you may need tio update the driver'.

This appears each time the machine is left for a while. Please can you explain why this is happening and how I can fix the problem. After I click on OK the pc functions fine.

Re: S3 Savage 2000

It means the driver for your video card is not allowing the system to enter standby (power save mode). This is an information message and is not a big error unless you really need to be in standby.

You have 2 possible solutions:

1) Scour the internet looking for and updated driver. These may work:

2) Disable system standby in windows: In control pane, select power options, then unselect the option for system standby.

I need drivers for S3 ProSavage (86c377) Video

The drivers for S3 Pro(KM) Savage Model 86C377 is located here

The Driver link supports both Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
All you do is extract the ZIP file. (And either run the setup, or located driver to directory where you extracted via Device Manager-Update Drivers)

Hope that Helps.

Problem with my vga

Did you have an ATI card previous to the Nvidia card you are now using. It could still be showing in your Hardware device manager as the primary device (or onboard graphics). If so,delete it and reinstall the Nvidia card and all should be well.
