Dark screen, no backlight

Trying and failing to uninstall a graphics program "coral" left me with a dark screen. I assume I need a recovery cd or at least the preinstalled driver to the graphics card, but I don't know which one to use. I have a hp omnibook vt6200 with windows xp
(from ebay)

I am sure that your BACKLIGHT is dead...Have someone or a tech take a look at it. The problem can be the backlight or the inverter itself... But most likely it's the backlight that goes out. You might be better of getting the LCD screen replace... Unless you find the backlight for that laptop model...

But first, play around with the BRIGHTNESS settings, make sure it's not on VERY LOW...

Try connecting it to a PC monitor, there is a VGA connector on the back. You can then use System Restore to roll the system back to a point before it went 'wonky'. How ever if the backlight is dead System Restore will not fix it.

I recently uninstalled ms office 2007 program on my asus EeeBox B202 desktop pc, after rebooting the monitor displays orange color with graphical lines and mouse cursor, the computer actually stopped...

This is unrelated to the Office uninstall. Failing backlight can cause pinkish or orange coloration. I would suggest you take it to a professional to price replacing the backlight.

If you want to confirm that the computer still works and it's just the backlight, do the following:

Boot it and listen. Does it all sound normal?
Boot it in the moonlight and look at it from all angles (can you barely see the image on the screen? If so it's definitely your backlight.)
Connect it to an external monitor (google it).

Try booting to safe Mode (f8), see if you get a normal screen that does not shut off. If you do, then suspect a graphics driver update (usually caused by windows update) that is incompatible with your laptop. Solution is to uninstall the graphics driver and re-install one from the the dell support / downloads website for the OS that you are using.

If it will not boot even in safe mode, try connecting it to an external monitor, if it boots ok on there, you can eliminate graphics chip problems and look at the possibility that it may be the inverter failing or the backlight in the screen.

To give rough indication, if the screen image can be seen in a dark room albeit very faintly, it is the backlight that is the problem, if there is no image at all, suspect the inverter, both are located behind the screen bezel.

If the screen refuses to boot into life on an external monitor, you have a problem with the graphics chip on the motherboard

Dark screen on toshiba laptop qosmio g55-q804

Assuming you have tried to change the brightness controls, this is usually caused by a failing backlight in the monitor screen. These can be changed, but are very difficult to do without breaking the fine tube arrangement. Replacing the screen is a better solution and not difficult to do, even for a novice.

Screen keeps t going blank but still have power

It may be the internal backlight that is failing. When the display has failed but still has power, take a flashlight and hold it close to the screen, move the flashlight all around the screen and check if you can see anything. The display will be dark, but you should be able to make out the image that is there with the flashlight technique. If you can see an image on-screen, then your backlight has failed and you will need to replace the monitor. Weather or not you see an image is not a critical issue, but a tool to verify if the backlight is off or some other issue is causing the problem.
Note, it may be difficult to detect an image on the un-light display, for example if you have a dark image as your desktop background. So make sure to fully scan your display (top to bottom, and left to right covering the entire screen) with the flashlight technique in order to see any image on-screen.

My notebook screen 3000 n100 goes dark after few second

This could be a faulty CCFL lamp.
To determine if you have a LCD screen, inverter or video card problem, read this and follow these instructions.
Defective CCFL backlight, it may have the following symptom: Screen flashs on red/pink and off. Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal. Picture flickering with dim display or appear black. Picture flickering on and off. All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp.
Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power the monitor up first then the laptop, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight. Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

Not booting up

Unfortunately you Windows OS crashed. Try pressing the F8 once you boot up. It should lead you to an option screen where you will be choosing SAFE MODE only. If you can boot up to windows under safemode you can do system restore or uninstall the program you just installed.

If you can't go into safe mode. Use the recovery disc. Pop disc 1 then upon booting the computer, press F12 to load boot menu then choose the dvd/cd drive. Once it finished loading, choose advanced option instead of Toshiba recovery wizard and it will lead you to system restore.

If both of the steps failed, unfortunately, you need to do full system recovery. Just do step 2 and choose Toshiba recovery Wizard, Out of the box state. This will delete all your data.

hope this helps.
