H F error

I am getting an HF error, book says it is an inlet water issue. I have checked the inlet water and it is fine. Any ideas short of calling a repair person?

My washer flashes the same code, H F but only during the rinse cycle. The water inlet screens are fine and the flow in great. iI think the problem is in the water level indicator switch but I don't know how to test the switch.

My issue was due to a fabric softener sheet getting sucked into the screen between the tub and the outlet pump. It is fairly easy to take care of. There are three screws that hold the front cover on. Once they are removed the front cover can be removed. There is a screen cylinder about the size of a soda can with a screw on lid. Take it off and check to see if the screen is clogged. Once cleaned, replace the cover and test. This did the trick for us. Good luck.

Take the hoses off the back of the washer. You'd better turn the water off though, first, of course, and there's a little screen where the water goes in. My cold water tends to have black somethings in it and tends to plug this screen. Clean it off with a rag and something small to get the edges. Don't take that screen off.(Not sure if someone without mechanic savvy, like me, could anyway.) It should start to work correctly.

Error message HF

o water detected entering machine or Pressure switch trip not detected.

If after 30 seconds the control does not detect water entering machine and then valves will be turned off and the error code will be displayed.

Or
If the control has turned the water valves on and after 8 minutes the flow meter has detected 10.5 gallons of water passing through it, but has not detected the pressure switch trip, the valves will be turned off and the error code will flash.

Check/Repair:

Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display.

  • If there is no water in the unit:

  • 1. Make sure that both valves at the water source(s) are turned on all the way.

    2. Check for plugged or kinked inlet hoses or plugged screens in the inlet valves
    3. Verify inlet valve operation

  • If there is water in the unit:

    1. Verify Drain pump operation
    2. Pressure Switch Hose is in good condition and properly connected to Tub and Pressure switch
  • Verify there is not a siphon problem
  • Verify wire harness connections to:Inlet Valves, Pressure Switch, Drain Pump, Flow Meter, and Central Control Unit (CCU)
  • Check all hoses for possible leaks
  • Verify pressure switch operation
  • Verify flow meter operation
  • Verify CCU operation
If this is intermittent, it would be very hard to determine the cause.
I myself have rarely run into this issue, and when I did, it was mainly caused by low water pressure into the water from the customers water supply, or clogged inlet water valve screens.
Make sure you don't have any duct tape or something around your drain pipe, it needs that air gap to prevent siphoning.

Hi

Error code FH appears when No water is detected entering machine or Pressure switch trip is not detected. If after 30 seconds the control does not detect water entering machine and then valves will be turned off and the error code will be displayed. Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display. If there is no water entering the unit then make sure that the inlet valves are working fine. You may need to check the continuity at the inlet valves. If the valves are fine then check whether inlet water hoses as they might be plugged. Also check for inlet water screen at the valve. However, if the water is entering into the washer then the Drain pump might not be working. Also inspect the Pressure Switch hose whether it is in good condition and properly connected to Tub and Pressure switch. Also check hoses for leak and inspect the flow meter. Hope this helps...

Possible causes for HF error. It is in the cold

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. You are right, FH error indicates an issue with the water supply; this error occurs when after 30 seconds the control does not detect the water entering the machine and the valves turn off & error code is displayed. Check the cold water inlet valve for any clogs and try to clean it, also clean the screens in the inlet valve. If still it’s not resolved then the only option is to replace the valve. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

My Manual says (HF) = Water Inlet Problem- Insufficient Water Supply
Select Pause/Cancel twice to cancel cycle - Unplug Washer to disconnect Power-
Check the following:
Water faucets completely turned on
Screens at inlet hose connection to washer clogged?
Water inlet hoses kinked?
Plug in the washer- re-select cycle and press hold to start-
same error- call for service..
