Every computer case has an opening and if your motherboard has more slots for ram than one you can buy one for *********** board but make shure it is the same as the one you already have in it.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

If this machine is running XP, beware. It is no longer supported, and hackers will be looking for these machines to infect. I recommend you get a newer machine.

How to change video card on sony vaio pcv w101 desktop?

It's quite difficult to access (removal of back cover, base including PSU and HDD) and once you do get to it you'll find it's a laptop-style video card. It's secured to the TV card and has proprietary plugs that I have not been able to match. My video card went bad (white lines, artifacts, etc.) and unfortunately that seems to be the kiss of death for this system as finding a replacement is impossible (for me, at least). Able to salvage the hard drive, cpu, ram, and some smaller items, but the rest are proprietary and won't work on other desktops or laptops.

Changing PCV valve

the pcv valve goes in the breather separator the power stearing pully is directy under it there are two 10 mm bolts on top and one under the breather separator, pull the bolts and the clamp on hose. remember the separator is siliconed onto the intake so separate with knife and pull on it. it will be hard but will come. dont forget to clean serface before re siliconing it.

Installing standard third-party optical drives in VAIO PCV-650 case

Hi there. I've worked for Sony VAIO and can assure you that the only solution is to get a Sony Branded Spare parts. The parts of Sony VAIO are very specific. As of now I see that the only solution for you is to either contact Sony Service Center or go for an external DVD Drive.

SONY VAIO PCV V1G

Model:PCV-V1/G
Unplug everthing and place PC face down on bench with base over edge. Earth yourself.
Swing pc unit forward and unscrew the case retaining screw on both sides of the pc unit, swing unit other way and remove other two screws. Case can be loosened, pull large cover up and remove both sides. Parts are then exposed. A shiny metal box covers the memory on the left side of the PC unit. Remove tape that retains it,slide and lift off from the edge facing you.

Memory slots are then exposed....insert and reassemble PC.

Ten minutes tops....good luck, much better performance.

if this has previously worked fine, then choices are: 1.) run "system restore" to an earlier date when you know it worked. 2.) re-install windows xp
