Tom you were right about it being frozen. Took the tube out and unfroze but the housing that feeds the water to the ice machine, has a piece inside. Does the housing, up top right, come out or is there a better way to get that ice out. Thanks much

You said it pulled away from the housing, the housing of what?the tube runs from the water valve on the bottom of the fridge to the inlet tube on the top right,if it came loose from the top/inlet tube you can just push it back in and clamp it,But,there is no pressure on that end of the line so the inlet tube going through the wall to the ice maker may be iced up meaning it is clogged with ice creating back pressure and causing the line to leak or pop off,so I would check the fill tube, you can see it from inside the freezer,it comes through the back wall of the freezer and goes into the ice maker, depending on the age of the unit most of the inlet tubes can be pulled out from the back by turning it a quarter turn to the right and sliding it upward and out.

it seems to me (no expert) that you have an ice buildup in the tubing to the freezing portion of that unit. I can only suggest to turn off the Refrigerator for a little while, an hour or two at most, and see if the tubing thaws.

Helping parents out. They have an Amana two door

Hi,
First you need to get hold of a replacement hose - preferably original parts.
After this - the door will come apart at seams possibly by removing the ice dispenser assembly first. A lot of things are designed to clip in, but secrews are often used as a back-up.

The tubing for my Amana SRD25S5L is brittle and breaking. Where can I find replacement tubing or repair kit?

If you're refering to the ice maker supply tubing, you can get ice maker hookup kits with the proper tubing and ferules at a local hardware or plumbing supply house.
Save your fittings as you pull them off to reuse what you can, you may need to replace the compression ferules on the plastic line under the compression nuts.
Be sure to pressure check for leaks before moving the refer back into position.

Frig won't cool, freezer works fine

Defrost unit completely. You're frosting up. Then, avoid leaving the door open, leaving liquids and food uncovered. Clean condenser coils. If it happens again, you need refrigerant.

Amana Refridgerator Freezer, French Doors

Most side-by-sides have a length of hose at the bottom of the freezer that send the water to the ice maker and water dispenser. take the back off so you can see this hose, there may be a kink in it, or a clog.
