Dropped the lens in the water. i recovered it

Dropped the lens in the water. i recovered it quickly, but there are water spots in the inner lens. can someone open the lens up and clean the water spots off?

SOURCE: Water inside the lens (Canon EF-S 17-85mm F4.5-f5.6 lens)

if it is only fogged you can blow hot air on the lens while fully zoomed in and after the water has evaporated, zoom out to compress the moist air out. do this several times.

If these spots are in different places on each picture, then they are actually reflections of dust particles in the air from the flash being so close to the lens. If they are in the same place on each picture, then they are indeed water spots on the lens.

Your camera is with fixed type of lens. Hence self cleaning lenses is not advisable. Contact camera technician will save your camera.

u could wipe the lense with oil either olive or corn before u head out for the day 2 the beach or whatever.

Lens elements upset


The front elments is a sealed unit so I think it must be the back elements you need to no how the fit what size filter is un you lens is a hyperzoom .

No. You can't take the lense apart for the cleaning by yourself. Any expert pro camera repairer will do the job
