Question about HP Pavilion dv6227cl Notebook
I have an hp dv6227cl laptop that will not start up.i have unpluged the battery inside for ten min"s. and have have removed the battery witch i know is bad and willnot charge. I have tryed a new hard drive as well i have tryed a diferent power supply with the same results. all I get when I power up is all lights on pc come on as they normaly do. I hear the fan,cd drive and harddrive spin a few times and thats it. it will sit there about 15 seconds and lights will go out and come back on as if was restarting only to get to the same point and sit there or shut down completly.
Have you tried removing the hardware components and then starting the computer? Remove the cd-rom,hard drive and memory dimms and the boot up the computer. If it does the same thing then the motherboard or on board video may have died. Now you say you have removed the battery that is bad and will not charge. Did you install a new laptop battery? Did you test the watch battery in the motherboard for the bios and see if it is good? Use a fluke meter to test the output voltage of the motherboard watch battery and see if it is dead or has the proper voltage. A battery like that only cost a few dollars and may fix the problem...or it might not. But it sounds like the bios got erased or damaged and most bios chips are not removable. The ones that are require a device to re-burn the bios software onto the chip.

You didn't mention if you get any VIDEOs, I assume you DO... If not, check if you can get VIDEO OUT to a regular computer monitor... Now lets talk about your computer not being able to boot up where as it either shuts down or do nothing...
What I would recommend you do is REPLACE the THERMAL PASTE between the HEATSINK and CPU... Most of the time, if the paste is hard, it will not obsorb the heat well and causes the laptop to over heat and shut down or crash and do nothing.
