Fix 3way switch

Feb 2013
1) Copy following link for 3-way switch wiring
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-switches.html#3-way
http://waterheatertimer.org/images/Switch-quick-connect-400.jpg

2) Usually a bad switch is replaced.
Buy another 3-way switch.
New switch will have 3 screws (plus green ground screw which is not discussed further).
On new switch, 1 screw will be different color from other two screws.
Same thing with old switch: 1 screw will be different color.
Take wire on different color screw and connect to different color screw on new switch.
Other two wires can connect to either screw.

Power window switch stuck on ford. the ''rocker''switch isnt depressing, so the window won't move

dang thats an old car

unfortunantly you have 2 choices
tear the switch out and try and rebuild ( posable )
as it is likely dirty contacts
option 2 go to dealer and buy new switch if they can locate it somewhere in your state
call some of the older auto electric shops and see if they have any old stock and ask if they have any one who can fix the curent or insert a new switch that will work

Need to move a light switch into a new room, I had a big den that I closed off part of to make another bedroom. the problem is the light switch for the light is now in the hallway.

this cannot be easily answered, if the power supply is in the fixture simply run a new wire to the new switch. if the power is in the switch run a wire from the same switchbox to the new location and wirenut the wires on the switch to your new wire. remove the switch to the new location and ummy off your old switchbox.in either case the latter should be the easiest and safest way to go. always be sure to turn the power off at the panel box. and remember electrical work isnt like your typical trades bad things can happen when very quickly if you dont know what you are doing.

Hi there, we have replaced dual infinite switch on our jennair range and cannot figure out the correct wiring for the new 12002125 switch....can you help...???

Follow the instructions below from partselect:

Attach the black wire(s) from the old switch (terminal 2) to the new switch terminal P1. Also attach the jumper cable to P1 and "jump" it to S1.

Attach the orange wire (old switch terminal 5) to S2
Attach the yellow wire (old switch terminal 4) to 4a
Attach the tan/(white?) wire (old switch terminal 3) to terminal 4 on the new switch
Attach the single red wire from the right front element to terminal 2 on the new switch.
Attach the 'compound' red wires (the ones that come from the left rear/outlet connection and is also attached to the right rear switch) to terminal P2 on the new switch.
There is no need to separate the compound red wires.

New Garden Light installation

You would get power to your switch from another light switch. They would be all on the same circuit. Run more wire from another light switch to your new switch.

Installation How To

Installing the new switch is fairly simple. Connect the two hot (black) wires to the two brass terminals on the new switch. Gently push the new switch back into the box. Fasten the switch to the box with the two long screws at the top and bottom of the switch.

Stove top dual infinite switch

If the new switch is a substitute, should have come with instructions.
If no instructions, I would suggest matching the markings on the switch next to each terminal.eg, match terminal marking on old switch as L1 to marking on new switch as L1. The markings are industry standard and should match from old switch to new switch.

If you need further assistance, let me know
