NOT FAMILIAR WITH THIS PARTICULAR MODEL BUT EXPERIENCE OF MODERN FLAT SCREEN MONITORS ETC. SHOWS THAT MOST HAVE PLASTIC LOCATION STUDS AND/OR 'CLICK' LOCATORS ALONG THE SIDES + TOP & BOTTOM. THE SECURING SCREWS ON THE MONITOR STAND + CONNECTORS AND MAINS SOCKET MAY ALSO 'DOUBLE' AS CASE SECURING SCREWS.

FIRST ENSURE THERE ARE NO MORE SCREWS HIDDEN UNDER LABELS THEN GENTLY, - REPEAT G E N T L Y - PRISE WITH A WIDE BLADE ALONG THE EDGE, USING CARDBOARD OR PLASTIC WEDGES TO KEEP THE HALVES APART. DO NOT FORCE THE BLADE AS THE PLASTIC CASE LOCATOR SLOTS MAY BE DAMAGED

On some cases not only do they have screws the case clips together and is very hard to come apart. In the shop we take a thin screrdriver and thin plastic pieces and use that to pry it apart. Once you get a couple of the clips to release it goes pretty easily.

Have a samsung 203b (R) C lcd monitor that i believe needs caps replaced cant figure out how to open case no screws probably just plastic clips holding bezel on

The case is held together with plastic finger hooks type setup, it goes together real easy but hard to separate. I use thin flat blade screw driver to crack it open starting at the center bottom edge and then work your way around, when you get the bottom, left and right side part way open, you will then lay it face down and then pull the back up, just watch out for the cable attached to the front bezel.

I want to replace the LCD screen myself but I can't find any video that shows me how. All of them show laptops that screws on the front of the bezzle and mine doesn't. How do I get the bezzle off?

Here's how to remove a screen for a laptop with a front bezzle instead of just front screws:
1. Power down your laptop. Disconnect the power cable and any peripheral devices from the laptop. Close the LCD screen, flip the laptop over and remove the battery from the bottom casing of the laptop.

  • 2.Flip the laptop over, and then open the LCD screen all the way. Remove the rubber screw covers from the front LCD bezel. The screw covers will be located on the front of the panel, or along the side edges, depending on your laptop's make and model.
  • 3.Remove the retaining Phillips-head screws from the front LCD bezel. Insert a flat-head screwdriver into the gap along the outside edge of the LCD panel. Start to pry off the front bezel. Work your way around the entire LCD panel until the front bezel is separated from the panel.
  • 4. Remove the the bezel from the LCD panel and set it aside.

How do you open a Westinghouse L2046NV monitor? I tried removed the two screws on the back and it still won't come apart? Please help!

Stand removed? Try lifting up the front bezel and then use thin screw driver to separate the front bezel from the back, but watch out for any attached to the front bezel. see exaples here:

Have you been to YOUTUBE for "lcd monitor disassembly" and "lcd monitor repair" video clips??? Absolutly do not use sharp cutting instruments to part the rear cover from front BEZEL of unit. One careless slip and it's a trip to local hospital "ER" to stop the gushing wound you have inflected on your body. Good luck with repair to your unit. 12fixlouie

Vx2260wm How do I get the case open? Saw only 2 screws in back holding stand on but front bezel seems VERY tight & I'm afraid of damaging the case. Eric

Use very thin screw driver to pop up the front bezel but do not completely remove the bezel, just enough to pop the back off when you place the front of the monitor on the table top facing odwn on top of a towel. It is a little hard for me to explain in words. You can also serach YOUTUBE.
See vx2255 which is the same chassis.

How to disassemble monitor Dell 1800fp ?

Remove the base by the button release or 4 screws on the back. On the bottom of the monitor near the corners you will find two thin slots where you can insert a thin wide blade screwdriver or pry tool. Very gently pry the back from the bezel toward the center from both of these slots until the bottom is seperated, then contilue from the slots around the corners and up the sides until you have seperated the entire back from the bezel. Lay the monitor on the bezel and remove the back ( do not try to remove the bezel, at least not yet). Lift the tape that secures the ribbon cable from the bezel buttons to the logic board. Unplug the ribbon cable from the logic board by pulling on the connector (not the cable). Remove the cable covers from the back of the case (one has a screw, the other has a lift tab) and disconnect the lamp connectors and ribbon cable connectors (do not pull on the wires). remove four screws and lift the metal back from the screen.

    Opening the dell 1707FP monitor

To open the case, do the following:

    1. Remove the base from the back of the monitor by pressing the large black button on the back.

    2. Remove the 4 large black screws located under the plate you removed in step 1.

    3. Along the left side, towards the top of the monitor, locate the seam that divides the front from the back of the monitor. This is located along the left side and is about 1/16" back from the front of the monitor.

    4. Using a flat blade screwdriver with approx a 1/4" wide blade, work the screwdriver into the left side seam, almost to the top of the seam. Your screwdriver should be going into the crack between two pieces of black plastic.

    5. Gently turn the screwdriver left and right until you feel the front separate from the back.

    6. Once you have a "hole" to start working from, gently pry the rear cover away from the front bezel. Make sure that the bottom right corner (closest to the power and adjustment buttons) is the last part of the front that you attempt to pry apart. Be extremely careful in this area, as the buttons are part of a small circuit board attached to the front bezel. While it seems like front bezel is the piece to remove, actually you want to remove the back case first. Pulling the front bezel too far away from the LCD screen itself can damage the flex circuit. Once you remove the back cover, you should be able to see the red and white flex circuit that goes to the front panel circuit board.

    7. Gently fold the bezel away from the LCD screen, keeping the bottom edge of the bezel close to the screen. Again, use caution not to damage the flex.

    8. Once this is done you should be able to see a green circuit board with 5 very small phillips head screws. Remove the screws and find a safe place for them. Once this board is removed you should be able to see the cracked button. In my case I just removed the pieces of the button and powered on the monitor using a small q-tip. Once reassembled, the actual button is inside the hole, but off to the left. The two contacts that you see directly behind where the button used to be are LEDs to indicate the power is on.

NOTE: In place of a q-tip, you can use any small, non-metallic, not sharp object. A pointy pencil eraser might work well too.

Reassembly is the reverse of disassembly. Hope this helps!

Is there an easy way to open this monitor?

-Flip the LCD face down and remove the screws that hold the base in place. -looking at the top edge of the LCD monitor you should see a small notch on each end between the front bezel and the back cover. -Using a plastic tool or a flat blade screw driver insert the tip and gently pop the case open. -Work your way around the edge of the case. -Once the LCD monitor is open unplug the control panel connector from the right side and remove the front bezel.
