Question about HP Pavilion dv1000 Notebook

HP Pavilion DV2036e Wont Boot

Laptop wont boot.
When it started I did a little research so took the battery out thinking it may be static, just replaced the power lead then tried it and it worked - until a week later when this failed too. Now I turn it on and the power light comes on, the fan starts for a second and the CD drive tries to read but then thats all the life it shows, nothin at all on screen, no noises.......nothin. I have also tried to reseat the ram to re-establish connection but have had no joy. Could this be a safety measure from the fan or is it usually something more serious?

i have an hp dv2214us laptop. My computer will not start up completely. I took the ram, battery and hardrive out, then restarted it, then put everything back in and restarted it. It starts to read the disk and all the lights come on, but then it stops and there is just a blank screen. At first i thought it was a faulty battery because I did get it to power up and read one time with it just plugged into the wall. When I tried to do it again it went back to just reading then not fully booting but all the lights remain on. PLEASE HELP ME I need my computer so bad because all my school work is in it.

Hi,

If the battery of the HP laptop is not in a good condition, sometimes booting problems might happen. To remove any static charges accumulated in the battery, you would have to remove the battery and press the Power button for about 25-35 seconds. Then reset the battery. Even after this, if your laptop is not booting up then you could perform the battery calibration and press F8 key to boot in safe mode.

I have a HP Pavilion dv8225nr notebook pc and when I plug the ac adapter into the notebook the battery light keeps blinking and it wont hold a charge. When I keep it plugged in and I turn it on it wont...

It is most likely a bad AC adapter. One way to test it is to remove your battery (I put the steps to do this below) and just plug the laptop in with the battery removed. If it does not power up then your AC adapter is bad. You can buy new batteries online or at your local electronics store. I would advise against buying them from a store though because they are usually much more expensive. I did a quick google search and found some on amazon for a pretty good price.

Remove the battery by following these steps:

a. Turn the computer upside down with the front panel

toward you.
b. Slide and hold the battery release latch to the left.

(The front edge of the battery disengages from

the computer.)
c. Lift the front edge of the battery up and swing it back.

d. Remove the battery.

Trying to start hp pavilion dv5000 (dv9628nr) it wont start boot page, it just switches off and on for a few seconds at a time. Will do a system restore if i can ever get it to boot up. Any suggestions?

Possibly a power issue? Try booting up with the power supply connected; you can even start up without the battery power connected to the computer, just the ac power supply. It could be a battery issue...hope you find a solution soon.

Message that battery needs replacing last week but it was still going

Remove the battery and ac adaptor. also remove any peripherals.
Make sure that ac adaptor is working ok
Then press power button and hold that for 20 seconds to statically discharge the notebook. Then plugge that into the mains (without battery) and try to turn on. IF Notebook will not boot. Call service as mainbord needs to be replaced.

Hp special editon dv6000 display wont load.

Not sure if this is whats up with your laptop but there is a recall on the dv6000. The following link has more details on whether your laptop is one of those affected.
