Lacouche, You didn't let us know any history of this monitor!!! Was it working perfectly fine on Sep 19th 2009? How old is the lcd monitor? How many "on" hours of use can you estimate that is has seen? If you lived next-door to my house I could help you trouble shoot it and find out if the "switch-mode-power-supply' has a problem with swollen CAPACITORS--which may/may not cause a problem with the cold-cathode-fluorescent-tube's" electronic ballast circuit which is called ( in lcd monitors ) a INVERTER CIRCUIT. The new style CURLIE-Q screw-in-energy efficient CFL light bulbs use a cheaper electronic ballast called CONVERTER circuit. I suspect that either one or both circuits are at fault and causing the unit to go into SHUTDOWN mode. Well, I guess that the only one to help you will be someone at ACER, or maybe a local TECH can repair it for $40-$90US. Or if you investigate your problem you might(with a lot of luck) repair it for 15-20dollars. Anyway, Good luck. I'm louie12fix on fixya or lmistyrel

Since you tried the monitor on another computer and its doing the same thing. The monitor is the issue. If you can open up the monitor look at the capacitors. Good capacitors will have flat silver tops. Bad ones will look puffy, bloated, pregnant, etc.

You will need to have soldering skills to do this. If you find bad caps then replace them with capacitors of the same UF rating and at least the same voltage or higher. The striped side of the capacitor needs to be aligned with the striped side off the board before soldering the new one back into place.

If you don't find any capacitors that are bad then the screen is the culprit and you'll need to find another monitor.

Lcd screen shuts down

the powersupply for the tubes is defect.
you have to replace some electrical condensators
( elco) I think betwheen 100/40V and 470uF/25V
you will find different piece's inside
look near the transformers on the bcp where the wire for the tubes is connected. just replace them and it will work

Hp flat panel monitor comes on shows logon and then blank screen

Ok, another words, monitor powers up for few seconds and shuts down by itself. If green LED on the front panel turns off as well or stays on?
If stays on, then inverter turns into protection mode because of old backlight lamps.
If it turns off in same time with an image on the screen, then there are some bad electrolytic capacitors in the power supply.

Multisync LCD 1700V turns on then screen goes blank and shuts off

Does the power light stay on? If so, you have an inverter problem. If the power light goes off, you have a power supply problem.

Monitor wont stay on- blue light is on. but screen keeps going blank.

Have you tried the monitor on another computer? If so, and it works, the issue is with your graphics settings on your computer. LCD and plasma based monitors often come with a protection circuit that disables the monitor if the synch or refresh rate are beyond it's capabilities. this is to protect your monitor from damage.

Do not exceed your monitor's max resolution.
Resolution is determined the following way:

Width x Height @ Refresh Rate
For your model:
  • Max Resolution 1440 x 900 @ 75Hz
More detailed information about your monitor can be found HERE. If your monitor is still under warranty, and you find it to be faulty, you may be able to send it to the manufacturer for repairs.

GE microwave won't turn off

Just checked the GE website. Had the same problem with my 5 year old microwave. GE website says to close and open the door quickly three times. First time I did this it didn't work. Second time I closed the door with some significant force and reopened it more quickly. Worked. Unplugged the microwave, plugged it back in, still fine.

Problem with monitor

Are you able to see a slight image on it at dusk and maybe with the help of a flashlight. since your blue light stays on the video board, may be okay.
It sounds like you have bad capacitors on your powerboard or possibly a burned out transistor on the inverter.

Only way to really tell is to open it up.
If you unplug the screen to video board ribbon, you may notice a different effect in the screen lighting.
There is a chance one of your bulbs is creating a problem
Should the screen happen to light up all white, then your power board and inverter are okay and the problem may be in the video board.
If it looks pinkish or dark or flickers then the bulbs or a bulb may be the issue.
If it flashes on then goes off, it's in the power or inverter board.
