Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Dishwasher not draining properly or not draining at all issues can arise due to different reasons. Usually, these issues are related to kinked hoses, knocked out disposer unit (if connected with the dishwasher drain hose) & clogged drain pump & filter.

Also note that dishwashers do not drain completely after a finished cycle and this is normal. Dishwashers are designed to leave some water in the unit to ensure that the heating element doesn’t overheat. If you suddenly begin to experience a large amount of water being retained in your dishwasher, you have a problem. Some of the most common reasons include that the drain hose isn’t working properly, the drain pump isn’t working correctly, or possibly there is a plumbing problem in your home’s drain lines.

First check whether the drain is not clogged or blocked and the line is not kinked. Check all the hoses for blockages & also clean the air gap. Has the disposer been replaced recently? If so, chances are the knockout is still in place. Simply remove the drain hose from the disposer, and knock out the plug. If the disposer has not been replaced, try removing the drain hose from the disposer and use a wet-dry vacuum (prepared for water, of course) to **** any water (and hopefully anything else) from the drain line. Then reconnect the hose, and test the unit. If you have checked the air gap and the drain hose and can’t locate the problem, then it is an issue with the drain pump of the dishwasher.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Our GE Triton TriClean III didn't drain, and now won't even give me an "on" signal when I lock it. Is it dead?

Check the circuit breaker before you make any hard-and-fast decisions. Find the appropriate circuit breaker, turn it off, wait fifteen seconds, then turn it back on. Now try it.

Hi

Please note that dishwashers don’t drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn’t overheat.
Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. Check the drain hose for any visible clogging, remove if present. If no visible lint is present then remove then turn off the dishwasher and remove the drain hose and check for any visible clogging. If still not visible then the drain filter or drain pump is clogged and you’ll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump.

Please post back for any further assistance.

My dishwasher does not drain after a cleaning cycle. the smelly water stays on the bottom of the washer.

Check the filters (triclean you have to remove the 2 screws on both upper and lower filters inside the machine). Remember how they came apart because you will have to reassemble them 8)
Check both ends of the flex tube from the dishwasher to the drain, and the drain port for blockages.

GE TriClean Quiet Power I. will not drain. Have cleared all the filters.

Check the corragated pipe from the filter to the sink drain. I had the same problem and cleaned the filters aswell didnt fix it.
It was a bread bag tie that got past the filter that was stuck in the drain pipe.

Good evening, under the cycle selection buttons on our GE Profile Triton Triclean Model number : GSD5130D02WW , we are not able to select any of the cycles. The dishwasher activates on the rinse cylce only...

The fact that it does work (briefly) on one of the cycles but not on any others, points pretty strongly toward the control board. It's a pretty expensive part, so before you buy it you need to open up the door panel, and make sure that it hasn't come loose from the pieces inside, which would prevent it from making contact with the buttons on the front.

Of course make sure that the breaker to the unit is off, or unplug it, if possible.

GE Triton dishwasher will not drain and after cycle.

Look at the timer to see if the contacts have finally worn off. The circuit board may have failed too.
