Overcurrent protector

I have a sony 1200w XM-1600GSD amp it poped the overcurrent one day so i assumed it was the voltage regulator in my altornator checked it but it wasnt so then I thought it was the amp because ive been beeting on it for six years so I got a new sony amp and it does the same thing Im still running the same sub a 15in Kicker Soloberic LS7. can u help please

The woofer or the wiring may be shorted. Remove the speaker wires from the terminals of the amp and power up the amp. If it powers up, check the wiring and the speaker. If it still goes into protect, the amp may be defective. A short in the wiring or speaker can damage a brand new amp.
