Try removing the cd-rom drive and the hardrive. The computer should still turn on and show the bios post screen. You have already tested the ram. I would also take out the ram when you do this. If it still does the same thing then try and loacte the BIOS reset jumpers on the motherboard or remove the watch battery on the motherboard for about 20 seconds then re-install it. This will clear the cmos and make get the laptop working again. If the CPU fan is not working the BIOS may be detecting that and shutting the computer back down so the CPU is not damaged. When you turn the computer on watch the CPU fand and see it it moves at all.

To remove RAM, turn computer over and unscrew the plastic that has the RAM sign beside it. (RAM sign looks like a rugged comb)

It's looks like the battery was already completely dead.

A replacement battery may be the good choice:

I have an Acer Aspire 5735, it will not start up. After powering up, it for runs for about 15-20 seconds then powers down. nothing appears on screen. battery looks fine, ram is ok and fan works. can you...

How long have you owned it? What do you mean by battery looks fine? The battery could be at the end of it's useful life in which case I recommend you replace it. Also make sure wherever any vents are on the laptop try to spray some computer/compressed air to loosen up any dust that may be overheating the laptop.
Thanks,

Will the aspire 5735 start up with a dead battery

A dead battery will usually stop a laptop from starting up. Remove the battery and try running from the power adaptor alone. If this works you can be sure the battery is dead.

I have an Acer Aspire 5735 RAM

If computer is booting, connect the laptop to an external display , and start it up. If you have display in there , then the problem is a faulty inverter.
If you have no display, then the most common fault is the motherboard.
If computer does not start at all, then it is probably the DC connector on laptop motherboard. It must be re-soldered.
A motherboard fault is not that bad. Motherboards are replaced by Acer at a not too high price, or under warranty. Replacing motherboard you will not lose any of your data and the computer will restart in the same condition it was before the fault after replacing motherboard.
I am an authorized Acer representative and technician. They have an excellent customer service (at least here in UK). They will send a courier to collect and deliver back the computer, they have low prices on repairs, and warranty extension options. Call Acer and discuss the repair.

If Acer does not have the motherboard , then repair may get expensive. Third party price will start from about $220 for used or refurbished part.

Soundcard problem acer aspire 5735

Try reinstalling sound driver. if still the same issue try external speaker to check if they have same issue. if external speakers work fine that mean its not driver issue and problem with your notebook speakers replace them.

Good Luck
