SOURCE: printer says clear paper jam. There is no paper jam.

Normal 0 I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer. The reason for this is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps. Bud

SOURCE: Pickup Roller wear

I have had the same paper jam nightmare as many CLP-300 users and just as I was on the verge of throwing it away I appear to have solved the problem. The paper tray has adjustable plastic guides on either side. I loosened them slightly to allow an spare eighth of an inch each side and I've had no problems since. I can't believe the problem that plagued me for months was so easy to fix.

SOURCE: paper feed problem

You can try to clean the rollers with alcohol, usually it's just the paper dust and ink that makes them lose traction. With the back door open you can clean the roller with alcohol on a Q-tip.

We use these printers in the computer labs at the school district I work for. The easy inexpensive fix is to turn the rubber bands on the rollers inside out.

My printer does not pick up the paper sheets from the paper tray. When I took paper sheet in to slot it works.

Well - I don't know if this will solve it (since there could be many causes) but it worked for me.

1 - Remove Paper Tray
2 - look at rubber rollers in printer undercarriage
3 - carefully remove "rubber bands" from roller
4 - turn rubber bands inside out and carefully return to rollers

5 - remove toner cartridge
6 - remove print drum assembly
7 - return printer drum assembly and toner cartridge

the roller trick helps the printer pick up paper
the toner/print drum trick helps reseat the inner workings of the printer correcting any misalignments that impede paper flow

E240 LEXMARK WON'T PULL PAPER FROM TRAY 2

Try pulling out the tray and looking for the feed rollers that pull the paper up into the printer. The 2 rollers should have rubber "shoes" on them (they look like thick black rubber bands). Remove these roller "shoes", turn them inside-out, and put them back on the rollers. This worked for me, maybe it will work for you too.

Looking for a wheel replacement for HP 2710 all-in-one printer

Hi There are two possibilities to solving this problem that I can think of.

1st The ideal solution would be a replacement rubber tyre from a scrap machine. Try your local friendly computer repairer too see if they have one which will fit or taken from a scrap machine. Try your local recycling/rubbish dump for one. A lot of HP's use the same tyre system so don't just look for your model number.

2nd ... and this is from the old days. Use two suitably sized elastic bands round the wheel core - one at each side.

Whichever solution you decide on, you will probably need to remove the pick-up roller.

Another thought occurs that if you have three rollers (I don't know this printer) then nick one from the centre wheel and swap for the outer one.
It's always worth a good clean of the rollers on any HP printer from time to time in any case. Use Isopropnol (Video head or similar cleaning fluid) or any alcohol spirit with a debris free cloth. I prefer a whisky 'cos it's a good excuse to imbibe the left overs!

I had a similar problem, On inspection I found out the rubber wheels in the paper tray section were missing ( Some kinda manufacturing fault) (or somebody played a very absurd joke on me) anyways I put rubber bands on those plastic rollers and Viola its perfect...

Procedure:

1. Remove paper tray
2. turn your printer upside down
3. u will see two wheels connected with a lever
4. check if they have rubbers on them
5. if not , role a rubber band on them .

hope that helps...

Paper feed problem.

I have just removed the panel where the power and USB cable lock into. It's a case of 1 screww from the rear and 2 catchs underneath the printer. From there you should be able to see the mechanism for the roller, a set of small white cogs. below that you should be able to see a very small spring which is acting as the pressure. Mine was still attached but as you say was pulling no pressure on the roller what so ever.

Solution:
Find yourself a large-ish rubber band and slip the band over the whole mechansim. Best way is through the paper feed slot, slip it over the roller and then move it through to the area where you removed the panel. Position the rubber band as far down the cogs as possible, don't worry the cog casing prevents the band interfearing with the cogs. Now pull the band reasonably tight and with the other hand test the pressure of the roller. Adjust till you feel OK with it. Now put the panel back in with the end of the rubber band trapped and poking out from the panel behind the printer, holding it in place. Redo the screw and give it a try.

My first attempt found it a bit too restrictive and feeded to sheets at a time but adjusted it once and its back to normal. I know its a bodge but its a cheap one and it uses a rubber band, just how I fixed my Punto's windscreen wiper, £120 part or a rubber band once a month... Mmmm...

Paper Jam

I have just SOLVED my CLP 300 printer paper jams by replacing the rubber band on the paper pick up roller. My old rubbber had worn flat and had dried out. I was lucky as Samsung had sent me one for an engineer to fit. However, being an engineer myself, I replaced it with instant success!

You could fix yours without replacing the band because all it needs is to be turned around to a non worn area. To get to it safely, unplug your printer from the mains supply and the USB cable. Remove the paper tray.

Open the front door and remove the imaging unit complete with toners. Now turn your Printer upside down and look for the rotating bar with a centre wheel and rubber band. The rubber band looks like it only goes half way around the wheel. This band is Clipped onto the wheel. With careful prising, you can unclip the rubber band. It's a bit tricky and tight but I have done it no probs. Perhaps being a techy myself has helped? Anyway, rotate the band around so that a fresh bit of rubber will be acting on the paper and refit. This is also tight and tricky, but can be done without dismantling the printer to replace the who bar.

The actual part that is unserviceable is the rubber on the Samsung MEA unit pick up roller. The part number is JC97-02647A

Now refit all the other stuff and test your printer. I have also got rid of the dreaded clicking too! But that's another story.

Hope this helps?
