Change the aspect settings by pressing the "ratio" button on the remote.

Is that what you need?

Hope this helps,
Bill

The aspect ratio MENU is in the options menu as well. Just goto the options menu and select Aspect Ratio.

Let me know if this helps,

Brand new TV with Light leakage on the screen

I happen to have the same tv brand, size, and problem. The only difference is model. I bought mine black friday 2012 and its got screen problems. Im looking for a solution also to why it has the problem it has. It was working great for the time being until i noticed cloudy white spots around the perimeter edges. I found out its do to a few possibilities. One is the one thats wrong with mine that i believe is dead pixels. My tv doesn\'t look damaged in the screen butt when the image darkens while watching tv u can see it. Its like a bleeding discoloration. Me personally im taking mine back to either get my money back or new tv. From ur breaf description sounds like u have the same issue except yours came that way.if u look at my follows on here u will see pictures of my tv and the issue to my screen. I bought mine from best buy. So i got a thirty day store return warranty plus i purchased a 2 year warranty. So im going back and going to see what they are going to say. I advise u to probably do the same especially if u got warranty.
As far as changing ur setting for HD picture quality with ur dish is to go through your menu options on the dish.i use comcast so mine is different butt im sure in a way the maybe might b in somewhat similar. With comcast theres a format button on the front of my box that i can press to change different format quality. If that dont give u what your looking for then see if you turn off your box while tv is on and then press menu on box and see if a user menu pops up if so then u should be able to change quality. You then can program it to be 1080 if ur using hdmi or components. One thing with comcast box is that i can make every channel 1080 bt the regular channels that dont broadcast that quality makes the picture smaller. So then u have to have HD channels to get 19080 quality. Butt u can get a good quality setting still with regular broadcast channels by overriding to 480p or to the best quality its puts out to that channel. Most broadcast channels set out a 480i or a a better HD 480p. Other than that you have to have HD channels and then ur box should automatically format to 1080u quality on the HD dish channels so you dont have to keep changing. Then when change ur channel back to standard broadcast channel it will automatically format to back to 480peither and so one as you change channels. Well hope it all helps and you got what you were looking for.

Why will my JVC blackcrystal 3001 series led not get a full screen picture on analog stations

There is a compatibility issue here. The format is not matching properly with the settings. You may have to study the operation manual of both and try changing the settings. If not, this is indeed a problem only the box top.

I have wide screen picture and dont know how to get full screen picture

Some sets in this size range will not format the picture in HD at full screen but only 4x3 or letter box format.

Google the model number with "specs" or consult the owner manual to see what the set is designed for.

I have a daytek hd tv had it for 3 years no problem now all of a sudden the hd chanel's I can only view in wide screen non hd are full screen looked through all the settings and can not get hd back to...

A few thoughts base on the info you gave.

First if HD is coming from a box or receiver they may be the issue---unplug each for a while and then plug back---allows units to reboot.

HD from a box is often formatted by the box---and it may have settings to change that or not.

The first assumption we always make is it is the set---I would put the odds of that at under 10 percent (I am not always right).

The set does not know channel/format so my guess is box issue.

If reboot does not help consider swapping the box out with another.

Tv screen setting narrows on certain programmes, how does one widen it again

If you're on cable, there is a set up menu on the cable box that specifies what format the image displays. Basically here's what's going on. Some shows are broadcast in HD and some aren't the non HD broadcasts will display with a boarder on the right and left side of the screen, Some broacasts say they're HD but they still broadcast in what is called "letter box" which means the square TV type image. the way around this is there probably is an option either in the cable box to force 16 x 9 display, or there should be a format button on the remote that changes the image format to "wide" or "stretch". That's what you're looking for. Hope that helps.

Overscan????

Dear customer,
You can fix it by right-clicking on the nvidia icon in your system tray, going to "TV Out" and then in there is a box under "Screen Resolution" (I think that's what it says) where you can click to zoom in or out, or move the screen up,down, and to the sides.
Or else your problem is  with the ratio of the signal, make sure the cable box is set to match your tv style (4x3 or 16x9)and the video output is set correctly (480p, 720p, 1080I) the set will have MORE format options on analog channels (480I) than on HD channels as the HD signal also controls the format shown by the set and also change the aspect ratio to fit your screen.. that'll solve your problem..

HD channels run off the edges

That solution is likely to be found in the cable or satellite box set up menu. Make sure that the output video format (4:3, letterbox, etc.) matches the TV

this is correct! this tv does not have the ATSC tuner built in. 1080i is a format of the digital broadcast approved by the ATSC. you must have a source of this format to veiw this format. standard cable boxes and satilite boxes altho digital are not outputing HD formats so you need to have the HD boxes to veiw HD 1080i and the broadcasters must be broadcasting HD to get true HD.

The aspect ratio (zoom) button on the cable remote had been changed. On Brighthouse the # button toggles through the zoom settings. It's not a tv issue, it's a cable fix.

Philips 32pt television screen format off center, to the left

For me it was the cable box settings...

I'm not a tech person, so take this for what its worth. I had the same problem with my Vizio and my Time Warner Cable HD/DVR box using the HDMI cord connection. HD channels were always fine, and non HD channels were fine until I went to an HD channel and back. When switching back, the non-HD channels would be shifted to the left as you describe. After much back and forth with both Vizio and Time Warner (each saying its caused by the other), I stumbled across the following fix...

I went into the cable box (scientific atlanta 8300) "settings", under "display," under "output resolution." There was a list including 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, and "auto select." I unchecked both 480 options and left 720 and 1080 checked. Problem solved. The other "Display" menu settings are as follows: Picture Size = Stretch, Aspect Ratio = 16x9.

Hope this helps.
