Nope. Duznt work. I'm on my third BB (2 replacemts - I wouldn't be stupid enough to buy THREE BBs), and NONE of them play custom ringtones. Nothing complicated. I've simply tried the ringtones that come with the device - the ringtones which I can (and do) alter as default.

My Profiles reflect the custom ringtones, but all I ever get is the default: true for BB1; true for BB2; true for BB3.

I've walked through it with T-Mobile and with Blackberry.

    Nuthin.

I'll never buy another RIM product - and NOT just for THIS problem; they just make junk.

Two ways:

1. Use the included Blackbery Desktop software and run "Media Manager". This will let you transfer any song on your computer over to the BB.

2. You can mount the BB as a drive in Windows and just copy the music file over directly. (This may only work if you have a media card installed -- might not work with built-in memory only.)

After copying the music over use the included Media application to try to play it. Once it plays in Media Manager you can be sure it will play as a ring tone.

Use the "Profiles" application and select "Advanced." Scroll to the "Tune" setting and select it. Scroll to the top of the list and select "Browse..." From there you can select the song and it will be a ringtone.

You can also set a ringtone individually for a contact in the address book. Edit the person's contact info and choose a custom ring tone at the bottom of the Edit screen.

No sound Blackberry

Check your profile settings and make sure that it is not set to phone only or all alerts off. If it is set correctly double check your ringtones and make sure they are set for sound. If those options are there then do a battery pull. If it still doesn't work then I would do a search on the crackberry.com website. It is a great site for all things blackberry.
