Verify voltage at the power terminal, and the remote terminal is 12VDC
A test light simply verifies power.... use a MULTIMETER to verify 12VDC.

Strip down the amplifier to the bare minimum wires to power up.
Power, ground, and remote. Be sure there are no stray wire strands touching other terminals on the amplifier.

If that powers on the amplifier - the problem lies in the RCAs or Speaker wires.

If it does not power up - the problem is with the power supply, and will need to visit a repair tech.

Thanks for using FixYa!!

If the car battery is to low it won't come on. Also check the blue signal wire to the receiver make sure it connected to the amp. If that don't work post a comment, and I'll give more advice. Plus make sure the ground is good.

Have you verified the power and ground are good to the amp? also you need to test the remote wire from radio to amp for 12v positive. should be a blue small wire near the power and ground input of the amp. if you have all three of those then the amp most likely is bad and is in need of repair....

check those three connection with the radio and car on. the radio has to be on for the remote wire to have power to it.

what happened right before it stopped playing?

Open set if able and follow power cord to the fuse it goes almost directly to.

When i turn tv on the blue light comes on at the bottom signifying its on but there is nothing on, when i hit the power button nothing happens and the blue light just stays on all the time when its plugged...

I see so many here with no sound/nopicture issues:

ISSUES:

1. IF sound main fuse/s are good.
2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signsof damage you can see---burnt parts etc.
3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down theproblem.
4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set.

Answers to issues:

1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the genericones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don'tput a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason.

2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses astandby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined andsome not.

Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on thepower/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--Iattach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flatand have no brown material coming out on top or bottom.

What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating(saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail.

3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have to buyand try a board to see if it fixes it or not.

4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over.If set is opened at least look for puffed up and bad caps like in thisphoto.6_3_2012_1_54_54_pm.jpg6_3_2012_1_55_24_pm.jpg

Hitachi Plasma not getting power

What it sounds like is the fuse on your power board has blown, or the power board itself has gone bad. You will need to remove the back of the tv, and visually inspect the power board, also note any weird smells. You can also check the fuse at this time. If it is not your power board, please let me know while you have the back off as I can walk you through any further steps at that time.

Amp blows main power fuse..

No "fault" lights? If not it HAS to be a connection...whether they look bad or not, Redo them, ground FIRST.
Good Luck

Nothing comes on

There's a line fuse inside the radio, mounted on a PC board. CAUTION: disconnect the set from power before opening the case or poking around inside. The fuse could be bad, but these sets are notorious for losing the power transformer. If the fuse is ok then you are looking at a $100 repair fee from Bose. You might want to check out the new HD radios -- better sound, MUCH lower price.

Check to make sure you reconnected the jumpers to connect the board that you removed. Also, check to make sure no resistors are burning. If still no pix, make sure you reconnected multi pin plug by digital convergence unit (DCU). Next, disconnect conv. plugs marked red, green and blue. This should allow power to come up if chip(s) are bad. Next, check pico fuses on board by jumper connectors or in power supply. If these are open look for solder bridges around conv. amps. Also, if any of these are open check all zener diodes beneath heat sinks where you installed conv. amps. Probably 27 v glass zeners shorted if solder bridges were created when changing chips. Good luck, sometimes you just get a bad I.C,Russmann.
