Error 9012

A C9012 error code deals with one of the paper trays. The code means the paper is not lifting up in a given time. I would make sure that the paper is in the paper tray correctly and make sure you don't have paper on both sides of the paper trays. I would open all the paper trays & turn the copier off, then back ON. Push in the paper trays one at a time and see which one codes out and that is the one with the problem. Good Luck

I have a very deep paper jam. The paper can barely be seen when looking down into the paper feed. Paper cannot be seen from the front where paper comes out. The paper is apparently folded very tightly...

Hi Rosemary, thanks for contacting me to help you fix your printer problem.
Well, have you tried removing the Paper Trays? There should be two trays and both of them are removable. Once they are removed, you'll be able to see through inside the paper passage in order to remove the jammed papers.
Remove the lid from the top of your printer. This lid protects the scanning bay. With the lid in the fully "open" position, lift upwards on it to separate the lid from the base of the printer. Now, remove the printer paper trays. These trays will pull directly off of the body of the printer. There are two paper trays -- one on the top of the unit and one on the front of the unit, beneath the control panel. Once they are removed, you will be able to see inside the passage where the papers are usually jammed. If your fingers can't reach the jammed papers, use a pair of tweezers to remove them. If you still have problems, let me know.
Good Luck.
Thanks for using FixYa.

We have an IR3320N that will only feed from the bypass tray - anyone run into that symptom? It was feeding from the feed trays this am.

What happens when you try to feed from one of the trays? With paper in the trays look at the display, does it show that the correct paper is loaded in the tray? Get a flash light and pull the trays out and look back into the machine and see if any paper is jammed up in the back. Also make sure all the guides are up to the paper in the trays and give it a go.

My toshiba 2060 copier starts knocking when warming up and then show the trays are empty , do you know what it could be?

the lift motor for the paper trays is faulty or if yu pull the trays out and look behind the tray there are som connection there check there aint no paper stuck there.. if you put the trays back in on at a time you should find the one causing the problem.. my money is on the lift motor as this lifts the tray up to the paper sensor to show paper in trays..

Print from both trays

Not sure with a that Model, but on HP lasers, you just tell the printer that the trays both have the same paper in - i.e. Plain Letter. When one runs out, the other takes over.
If the printer thinks one tray is Plain and one is i.e. Bond paper, it won't switch trays even if the same physical paper is in there.
Go through the control panel on the front of the printer, or if it doesn't have one, you'll need to use the web interface to set this up.

Paper trays do not stay locked in

You need a PIU (paper input unit)...this has catches that lock in the tray. Usually, only one of the trays will not lock shut....but yours is a conicidence. Even if one tray didnt lock in, it is still the PIU.

How to set the paper size in the trays?

most are set by the trays itself, when you adjust the "guides" that go against the paper it adjust some levers on the side or back of the tray which push on some sensors behind the tray.
Some however you need to turn a dial in the tray to the paper size you need.
make sure the guides are snug against the paper, the dial or settings are correct and that there is no paper behind the tray.
Also I'm not sure what country you are from but in the US we do not use A4

The tray on the side that sorts and stacks will not reset?

1-the sensor that tells the tray it is up, may be bad
2-the trays may be out of alignment (are the trays crooked?)
