Question about Kodak EASYSHARE 5300 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Kodak AiO Home Centre will not install

I've been messing with this too long now & given up.
My problem is with the Kodak ESP 7 printer which arrived at 11am this morning & it's now 7pm, I have spent all day using the solutions listed on this site & others to remove & reinstall the software a million times, changed all-sorts of settings & I'm not doing it any more.
The software CD supplied with the printer & all software down loaded will not complete, I see this on screen - "The installation was interrupted before KODAK AiO Home Center could be installed. You need to restart the installer to try again" I've not bothered contacting Kodak, as I can see that no one has had any real solution from them. I have the printer working wirelessly & can print, scan & copy but I cannot install AiO Home Center, I'm not bothered about easy share, easy? what's easy about it? I cant count the amount of people listing problems on the web about this software, its ridiculous.
If any one wants to know? I just plugged a cable in the laptop & let windows install the drivers, then changed the port settings & added my ip address, it works wirelessly now.

I had a similar problem with the Kodak ESP9 under Vista SP2 (32bit). I spent hours with Kodak chat Support and then by voice.
We seemed to repeat may things but the upshot was we got it working.
We ensured that net framework 2.0 or later was installed. We deleted all kodak files and also apple's bonjour software which loads during the install from disk. we checked the temp files for kodak stuff and deleted that and then downloaded the software from you can back track to your printer if it is not an esp9. save the software and then open the file location and right click and run as administrator. I found the Kodak people helpful and pleasant. They were a little difficult to understand at first as their cadence of speaking was different but once I got used to it their English is excellent. If the above does not work for you call 1800 421 6699

You can also try the steps below:
Go to printer setup (printers and faxes, printers depending on windows edition)

Step 2
Right click your mouse on the white background then left click on server properties.

Step 3
Click on the ports tab then click on add port, click on TCP/IP port then click on the new port button

Step 4
Click on the next button on the wizard, type in the ip address of your printer on the printer name box (access the menu of your printer to get ip)

Step 5
Once done, go back to printer setup then click on add printer then install the printer driver of your printer,

This setup method will help install the printer wirelessly regardless of the firewall settings that you might have on your computer

Hi everyone, I'm posting the solution to this problem that I received from Kodak tech support. It works!

Overview of my problem: My ESP 9 AiO software (drivers and Kodak Home software) uninstalled themselves somehow. When I went to the site to get the latest Kodak Home Center, it would not execute properly and install. Windows 7 recognized the printer and installed the basic printer driver, but no control for scanning, fax, etc. from the computer, and no wireless printing.

I hope this reinstall procedure is helpful to those of you who experience this problem!

Unregister and register the WINDOWS Installer:

Select Start > Run.

b) To unregister, type msiexec /unreg, then click OK.

c) To register type msiexec /regserver, then click OK.

Enable services in the WINDOWS Operating System: Use caution when performing the following steps. If you modify a service incorrectly, a system crash may occur.

a) Click Start > Run.

b) Type services.msc, then click OK.

c) One at a time, right-click each of the following services, then follow the steps below the list.

Print Spooler (if the service does not start, continue with the three services below; otherwise continue with Windows Installer).

Background Intelligent Transfer Services

Cryptographic Services

Remote Procedure Call (RPC) locator

Windows Installer

d) Click Properties.

e) Under the General tab, next to Startup type, select Automatic.

f) Click OK.

g) Repeat these steps for all of the services.

Here is continuation of the solution: (Couldn't put all in one post):

If the “Installer Error” persists then:

    1. Go to the Web site.

    2. Type WINDOWS Installer in the search box, then press Enter.

    3. Select the link for the latest WINDOWS Installer, then follow the instructions to reinstall the WINDOWS Installer on your computer.

Then re-install the latest version of KODAK AiO Home Center Printer Software as mentioned below:

    1. Remove the printer USB cable if connected.
    2. Click on Start > Add or Remove Programs > Remove/Uninstall the existing KODAK AiO Printer Software(s)

    3. Log on to and follow the onscreen instructions to remove any remains of the KODAK AiO Printer Software on your system for a clean reinstallation.

    4. Insert CD or log on to

    5. Scroll down and then Click on DOWNLOAD. The process may take around 30 to 45 minutes as stated there.

    6. Click on RUN and follow the onscreen instructions to install the software on your computer.

    7. When prompted by the installer, please plug in the USB printer cable.

Kodak ESP-3 - Problem - "The installation was interrupted before KODAK AiO Home Center could be installed. You need to restart the installer to try again"
Solution - deleted ALL kodak files (from add/remove files) and also apple's bonjour software which loads during the install from disk. Run a search for Kodak and delete all the temp files for Kodak stuff (on C/drive) and then downloaded the software. You must "clean" your computer of all Kodak files before you can download the Home Center. Once I did that, it downloaded just fine.

I'm not terribly computer literate so I'll try and explain what has worked for me. Had the same problem yesterday with my kodak printer and had given up. I also had some trouble with some other software to which i found the solution at This fixed the other software problem and i've now been able to install the kodak printer software and it is working! Something to do with me having an external drive connected at a critical time during the computer setup?

Error code 1- 2036

I fixed my error code 1-2036 by going to the "Configure Settings" in the AiO Home Center then selected AiO Printer changed to "Print Quality" to Draft and clicked OK.... Then I was able to Scan with no errors. I think the config settings were corrupted some how and this resaved them properly.
if that doesnt help
Go to Control Panel
Double Click on Printers and Other Hardware
Double Click on Scanners and Cameras
Double Click on Kodak 5100 AiO
Click Next
Read and follow directions
if both the solutions doesnt help... its time to call kodak

Kodak AiO home Center will not open

My son has the same model and issue. I had him go to and get the latest software and firmware update.

Make sure to use the dropdown to select your operating system. The page defaults to XP.

The software is a new version of the AIO home center.

The firmware installer updates the physical printer. Before you run this program be sure to read and understand the instructions.

If both ink cartridges have good levels of ink, and you keep getting the clean the print head issue after updating both the software and the firmware, then call Kodak support. 1-800-421-6699, 7 A.M. to midnight Eastern time, 7 days a week. They will ask you if you put in new cartridges and installed the updates for the firmware and the AiO centre software. Be patient. They will get a solution for you.
