Although we can see the pilot spark, it is not lighting. It's as if the gas is not coming through. We cannot hear the gas either. Any thoughts ?

First turn off the gas and then check the owners manual that came with the heater, maybe a parts list,it sounds like the thermocoupler is bad, it sends a signal to the gas valve that the pilot is lit and then turns on the gas to the heater, you may find a replacement at a local hardware store, you need to get the old one out to measure the old one to know what lenght to get or the parts list will tell you, hope this helps,if you are not comforable doing this take it to a profesional gas service company.

Cozy gas wall heater won't ignite, pilot light is on

There are two types of igniters, spark-type or glow heater. The glow heaters wear out and crack or break and the spark-type spark gap gets fouled or dirty. Both could have electronics problems that drive the glow heater or spark systems. The Filtrete thermostat is not the issue. While rapping the unit makes the glow igniter come back together to glow again.

I have an AIM 3 Panel Gas Heater. I have just purchased a 9kg gas, connected everything as I normally did (last year), however the gas is not flowing through as it should. There is an ignition spark, but...

More than likely, there is air in the line from the gas bottle to the heater. Purging the air, by holding the heater's control knob down while in the Pilot position, until you smell gas, will solve the problem. This may take several minutes, so be patient. Once you smell gas, release the control knob and wait 5 minutes before attempting to light the pilot.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

If it has been off for a while there might be a spider web in the orfice.
You would need to remove the pilot assembly and unscrew teh orfice to see if there is something blocking the orfice.

There could a couple of problems. An easy and inexpensive thing to try is replacing the hose and regulator. If that doesn't help, the pilot jet may be clogged and you have to do some diassembly to get to the pilot jet and clean out the orifice. The last thing is that possibly the igniter is not creating a spark to light the heater.

We have a new gas bottle and new connection valve but the gas doesn't seem to be getting through to light.

IF YOU ARE SETTING GAS VALVE TO PILOT AND PUSHING DOWN BUTTON AND NO GAS TO PILOT YOU MY HAVE CLOGGED PILOT RESTRICTOR WHICH IS AT END OF PILOT TUBE WHERE YOU LIGHT PILOT ,REMOVE FITTING AND BLOW OUT DIRT. MOST RESTRICTORS ARE HARD TO GET OUT, JUST STICK PILOT IN SINK RUN WATER IN HOLE AND BLOW OUT WITH AIR PRESURE. DRY BEFORE RE -INSTALL. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO HERE HISS OF AIR BLOWING IN HOLE WITH LIPS.

You may have a plugged orifice in the pilot tube assy. If you have any way of getting to the orifice with compressed air, and blow back, it may dislodge it, if it is plugged. If possible, carefully remove pilot tube at valve end first, so that if it is debris in there, it blows clean of the tube, so it won't clog again. Otherwise you'll have to remove complete assy. Another thing to try as well, is to shut valve off, loosen fitting at valve for pilot tube, AND MAKING SURE NO FLAME OR SPARK ANYWHERE IN THE AREA, take a spray bottle with dish soap and water mixed (bubble tester) and then spray at pilot fitting when it is loose, and push pilot, to see if any bubbles appear, indicating gas flow. If no flow there, then I'd get a new gas valve.

Napoleon PTH10PSS Infra-Red Patio Heater

If you have a piezo ignition, then all you will hear is one click when you turn the knob. If I am guessing correctly, when you push in the knob and turn it, the gas flows to the pilot assembly, when you turn the knob far enough it will clilck and that sends the spark to the pilot assembly to light the pilot. Try turning the knob slowly before you get to the click, that will allow more gas to flow to the pilot. If this does not work, then you may have a blockage in the pilot.
