Can't pull up anything once logged in (eMachine W3609 is the mod)
Once the computer is booted and i log on under my name in about 30 seconds a box pops up and says " Windows eplorer has stopped working check online for a solution or restart the program. I don't have internet service at home but i doubt that would work. Everytime i X out that box it comes right back in ten seconds. So while trying to pull up another program it pops up and stops that program from starting. The only thing i can pul up is the screen to restart or shut off the computer. I restore from the computer but the earliest restore it showed was not early enough because the problem continues. I don't have a restoration disk or any back up discs. i have no disk to this computer at all. My sister threw them all away.
Please tell me what i can do.

The Windows explorer is the thing that opens files for you. That is why you cannot open anything when this one is not working.
Try this: Press the Windows key on the keyboard, when the start screen comes up you click on "run". In the white space you write this:
There is a space before the slash.
Please let us know if you were able to do that and what the outcome was.

In the run type msconfig then press enter. A box will appear and click selective start up. Then next to tools on the top click on startup. Look for the entry that shows up and disable it. restart and she if that helps
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

First test is put new harddrive in and when it goes to boot press Delete, for entry to Setup, make sure new hard drive is found in equipment. System equipment, if so then Put Operating disk in CD drive and check check boot list , Put CD drive first then save and let boot up. It will automatically load the operating system back in the new hard drive.
As far as your saved material in old hard drive. You can check hard drive on second hard drive cable or with a USB adapter connection to see if able to boot hard drive up and view files. If it works then you can drag material from one window the desktop (To drag material just put mouse on file and left click-hold down button and move to desktop it will automatically copy file to desktop.)

Disconnect the network cable that is connected between the router's WAN port and the cable modem / dsl modem. With router powered on, reset the router by pushing the end of a paper clip into the the small hole in the back marked "RESET" Keep pressure on the switch for 30 seconds, and release.
The router will reboot and be returned to factory settings. You should be able to log into the setup page by pointing your browser to 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1, when prompted for a user name an password, leave the user name blank and in the password box type "admin" (leave out the quotation marks) .
Change settings as instructed by your Internet Service Provider's tech support group.
When done, power everything down. Reconnect the WAN cable to the modem & power up the modem. After 30 seconds, power the router. After 30 seconds, power the PC.
Hello ! i want you to try something re install the operating program on this computer .the operating program might be corrupted . thats why its behaving that way .also run an anti virus to check the hard disk for program infections .ie before X P installation .
Hi, My Name is ArmyMason, I am here to help you. Are you seeing any flash of Blue Screen before it reboots? If not it sounds like you have a boot virus. If you can't boot to Safe Mode best the way to fix this is to pull out the hard drive and put it into another computer that has up to date Antivirus. On the hard drive are pins with a little plastic piece attached to them above that should be a diagram SL = Slave, MS = Master, CS = Cable Select. Depending on the Setting the persons harddrive that is in the computer you are about to put that Hard Drive into depends on the setting you need for your Hard Drive. So remember or right down the setting of your hard drive. If there hard drive is set to Master set your hard drive to slave. If there hard drive is set to Cable Select set yours to Calbe select. With the computer off and unplugged, locate the cable that the hard drive is connected to and take your hard drive and connect it to the second connector which is in the middle of the cable. This is where all slave hard drives go. Note: Dont worry you wont infect the host computer with a virus, because its not an active partition. <--- techy info... Now boot the computer and once the Hard Drive is detected run the Antivirus program on that drive.
There are other solutions, but this is one way you can remove the virus without having to format your computer and start over. If its a Blue Screen please make a post with blue screen issues so that we can figure out exactly what the error is.
press cortl+alt+del whneyou have the log on screen
click on option button at eh lower right corner, that will bring you;
change the domain to local computer,
login name =admin or administrator,
password= blank, or Admin or Administrator
While it starts up from a power down, hit F8 and select safe mode.
Let the computer start up completely in this mode.
Once all is well and good, shut it down and reboot and see if the problem persists. If all is not well and good, a major file in your computer has been damaged, deleted or corrupted, and this can be commonly caused by:
A hard drive becoming defective A virus It was accidentally deleted by a user of your PC
