Subzero 601R Extremely Difficult to Open

When I open the door and then close it, it is extremely hard to open for 5-10 minutes. When I say "hard to open" I mean that my 180 lb. husband has trouble.

This is a problem with freezers that have their drain outlet blocked.
Clean the doorseals anyway with a warm cloth and soapy water, then remove inner drawers. There should be an access panel at the rear to remove, and this will reveal the cooling coils and the drain at the bottom of these. You will need a short length of wire to clear the pipe. Make sure power is off while you do this.

    Yes it will still work.

In fact it's even easier - as there is no cover involved.

Just clear out fridge base - and turn off. Use a length of PVC covered wire - net curtain "wire" is ideal.

If you can look at the back of the fridge while you do thism toy should see the wire poke out through a tube into the tray at the top of the compressor unit.

When clean - give it a squirt of anti-bacterial cleaner to keep the gunge down.

What happens is mould starts to grow on the back of the fridge, but condensation washes it down, and eventually builds up in the drain outlet.

Closing the fridge door - traps warmer air in there - and this contracts when it cools - producing a vacuum in there. The drain should allow air inside to ballance this, but a stuck door is a sure sign it's blocked.

I have a 1999 chevy silverado 1500 extended cab and I am trying to replace the speakers. I need to take off the rear door panel on the drivers side(the door that does not open)? I have already done the...

This is an extremely difficult problem you have the biggest issue is the door won't open .I'm guessing you have a key less entry system if so can you hear the motor move for the lock in the door dose it have power dose the window work up and down .
This will tell you if the problem is electrical or mechanical if the motor is bad you will hear nothing if the clip broke or popped will make noise.
Worse case you will have to take the other door apart take a close look at how it works then drill a hole in the broken door from the inside at a spot ware you can talk a screw driver and manually pop the lock open.
Well I didn't say it would be easy but if you look closely anyone could do it.

The door on my subzero refrigerator is very difficult to open and, sometimes, almost impossible to open. I think magnets keep it closed with a rubber liner sealer. We love the refrigerator, but my wife is...

Sometimes that's caused by a slight vacuum created by the cooling process(you must have very good seals). Could you attach a handle or use a pry tool?

The driver side door does not unlock - can only (central locking)

It is extremely difficult to remove the door panel with the door closed. You mentioned that you can unlock the door with a key, so does the door still open and close once unlocked? You most likely just need to replace the power door lock solenoid, as when they fail, they usually sieze up, and make manual lock unlocking difficult.

Driver side door extremely hard to open!?

It's a common problem on this model.
I suggest to have it fixed shortly otherwise you might be unable to open the door one day or another and it's not easy to remove the door trim to fix the problem when the door is closed.

The door external handle and the latch have to be replaced to fix it permanently. Unless you are a very patient person and likes puzzle and ready to spend few hours to remove the door trim and figure out how the levers are connected and so and so I would recommend to have it done in a body shop. Usually they are familiar with these mecanisms and will be less expensive than a dealer.

My estimate, $80 for the parts + somewhere in between 1.5 to 2 hours labour.
Hope it will help

Extremely difficult to open dishwasher door

if this is the solution other things should also be difficult, closing the door, sliding the baskets etc, - your dishwasher does not have a frame in that it is not rigid if the base is not level then your dishwasher will be twisted and things will not align, on the bottom of the machine is adjustable legs, similar to a fridge, a spirit level on the top not only front to back and side to side but diagonal as well and adjust the legs hopefully fixes your problem

Doors extremely hard to open on both refrigerator and freezer

What you have is normal - it is intended to make a tight seal - something similar to pressurizing an airplane.

You should be able to get back in with no problem after about 30 seconds - time it on your watch

And wipe the vaseline off - it is both counter productive and may cause the plastic in your door seals to degrade.
