Question about Mark Of The Unicorn MOTU Traveler Sound Card
I had this same problem, I contacted MOTU's customer support and it is caused by the firewire chip being blown. They said this is most likely caused by someone accidently plugging the firewire cable in upside down. Have a look to see if you firewire ports on you traveler look split. Its a hardware thing and you'll have to contact MOTU to get a repair done. They will probably just send you a new unit.

**** I gurantee thats what I've done, I wonder which end it trips out on? the Mac end or the Back of the Motu? is there 2 chips for each unit? as there are two ports...
