Re: whats the RMS on my 1000watt 4ch amp???

Ive done some research and i haven't found any conclusive ending however the best i can do is tell you the round about RMS which is approx 200 to 150 unbridged.

What amp would be better to use with what speakers/sub? I have a KAC-7202 kenwood 920W maximum power (150wX2 RMS, 4ohms) (230wX2 RMS 2ohms) and then the other amp I have is a Alpine MRP-M500 mono power...

I'm using that Alpine right now for 2-12" subs and I have compared it to 6 or 7 other amps this month and most were 4 channel 150Watt/Channel Bridged to 300Watts x 2 and found the Alpine to be superior in both sound quality and loudness. The Alpine has also not turned off even with full volume for hours at a time, Very solid amp I was very surprised due to it's size!

Which speakers (Front/Rear) to buy that match Kenwood KAC-M846 4/3/2 Channel Amplifier.

I don,t no where you are reading thease articles from,I installed car audio equipment for over 40 years, Untill i retired a couple of months ago, Who ever is writeing those sort of articles does not have the slightest clue what they are talking about, It is the opposite way around, It is allway better for yor (Speakers) To handle more power then what your amp puts out, Then you will not blow the spaekers, It is best to get speakers at least 20 watts more then what your amps maximuin (RMS) Watts are, Hope this helps you out, (PS) 50 watts (RMS) Is what most people go for, It is in no means (Under) Powered.

I have a sound stream xta 600.2 what would be the best 12" subs to with it

match your total rms output at the resistance you will be running the amp at to the subs.
if your amp puts out 300w RMS@ 4ohms, then it will produce 600w RMS@ 2ohms. half the resistance, double the power.
So now that you know your available power, you should get speakers that will be used to the fullest at that given resistance.
If you have two 4 ohm subs that have a power handling of 300 watts, Then you can wire them in parallel ( + to + and - to -) to get a 2 ohm load (which will be 300w per sub with the above amp) or in series (+ to - to + to -) to get an 8 ohm load. (300w amp @ 4ohms = 150w amp @8ohms = 75 per sub).

Keep in mind: choose the speakers to fit the amp, not the amp to fit the speakers. If the amp has more power than the speakers can handle, you will blow them. and ALWAYS USE RMS WATTAGES.

Need help wireing sub

Is the speaker a dual voice coil speaker? If so you can wire it up a couple of diferent ways, go to they have a woolfer wiring wizard that can show you the different ways to wire for 8 ohm.....4 ohm.....2 ohm....and 1 ohm...I would figure out how to get the most power out of the amp in mono mode, take that ohm load from there and see if you can wire your speaker to match it.

Car Ampli Problem

forget hooking this on a subwoofer. this amp produces only 50 watts per channel at 4ohms or 70 watts per channel at 2 ohms RMS...
If you try bridging the sub, it will only give out maybe 100watts bridged.
So..... if your sub is, lets say 1000watts RMS, youre just going to bust your amplifier to smoke...
Find a more decent and powerful amp. This amp is only intended for separates and lowend subs with an RMS of 80 to 150 watts

Ppi dcx 1500.1 is it 2 powerful 4 da 12in. L7?

Hello montyski20,

The amp outputs 500 watts RMS into 4ohms, 750 watts RMS into 2ohms and 1000 RMS into 1ohm.

The L7 can handle 750 watts RMS (375 watts per each coil). If your L7 is the 2ohm version, you should wire the voice coils in series, the positive marked coil to the negative unmarked coil. Then connect the remaining positive and negative to the amp terminals. This gives you a 4ohm load (500 watts). If your L7 is the 4ohm version, wire the voice coils in parallel, both marked and unmarked positives together, likewise both negatives and then to the amp terminals. This gives a 2ohm load (750 watts).

Paralleling the 2ohm sub will result in a 1ohm load (1000 watts) and that is too much for the L7.

Hope this helps.

What speakers

Hello enot99,

The CC-2502 is a bridgeable 2-channel amp. If you want to drive normal speakers in stereo, the best would be a good set of components with separate woofers, tweeters, and crossovers. They are available in many sizes from most car audio manufacturers. I'd begin by finding out what speakers fit the location where you intend to mount them. Then I'd browse the speaker selections in that size at You can also use the "outfit my car" feature to browse only the products that fit. Then select a pair that has a power range and impedance to match the amp: 250 watts RMS at 4ohms or 450 watts RMS at 2ohms.

If you want to use the amp in bridged mono mode to drive a subwoofer, again Crutchfield has a large selection of subs and some enclosures already fitted with subs (loaded). The amp claims 850 watts RMS into 4ohms bridged, so look for a sub that has a power handling rating of at least 850 watts and it needs to be 4ohms.

Hope this helps.

never attemp to bridge your amps specially this type of amps. this are too very complicated. you may blow your amp if you will attempt it again.
