I've ran into this before and all that was wrong was the RCA hookups from my dvd player. The colors are very similar and I found it by unplugging one jack at a time and the buzz stopped when I found it.
Hope that's your only problem,

Check whether the audio is muted by accidental press at remote control button. Enter its sound menu, and check it. If muted, as you know there will be no audio output. If not muted, check the speaker/s. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. If this is a flat screen maybe the TV isn't capable of decoding the audio you have for the movie. Check to see what audio the TV can decode. For instance: MP3, AC3 etc and check the movie file with a app called mediainfo and go to the audio section and see if your TV is capable of decoding that audio. Also check the extension of the movie file and see if the TV can play those as well. MKV, AVI, MPG, etc.
For the remote control I believe you can go on line to the page of the brand of your control and check for the manual of that remote and get it there, and for the audio you may need a new audio board for your tv, I can recomend a page called discount-merchant.com they have a lot of parts at good prices.
