The rl code is displayed when the control detects a load of clothes in the washer during the clean washer cycle.

This code should only come up when you're trying to run a clean cycle.

There can be two causes for this message if there are no clothes in the washer while you're running the clean washer cycle.

The most serious cause of the problem would be the spin bearing. Try and turn the basket by hand and see if you fill any restrictions.
The basket can drab because of the bearing or because there are clothes between the spin basket and outer tub.

Turn the basket by hand and see if you notice anything.

You can also try to remove the belt and run the clean cycle and see if the problem repeats. If the code doesn't repeat with the belt off and there is nothing between the tub and spin basket most likely the spin bearing will have to be replaced. The bearing is part of the rear half of the tub and will require a complete tear down to change.

The rL error code during the clean cycle is likely caused by friction on the spin basket shaft since you indicate that you hear squeaking when the washer is spinning.

The squeaking is normally caused by a bad bearing in the rear tub shell.

I recommend that you have the washer diagnosed and repaired by a Sears service technician.

This type of problem will normally require an extensive tear down of the washer to repair.

It is not a problem that you can normally repair yourself.

Open the door & slowly rotate the spin basket to see if you can feel any kind of drag on the bearings.

If the bearings check good, the control board is sensing a load & will need to be replaced.

If the message rl repeats with the belt off then the most likely cause of this problem is the machine control board.

Rl on the control panel

The "rl" (remove load) error code appears when you are running the "Clean Washericon1.png" cycle. You must not have a load of clothes in the washer during this cycle. Remove the clothes from the drum, and restart the cycle. The "Sud" error indicates that the detergent is over-sudsing. The Duet washer automatically combats this by reducing the amount of suds in the washing machine. Let the washer finish the suds-reduction steps. Use less detergent during the next wash cycle.

When I go and try to run the cleaning cycle, the machine will start to spin, then puts no water in and after about a minute en rL error is display. Some time the clean cycle will start with out a problem...

"rL" indicates a garment has been detected inside the wash tub. Garments are detected by weight. The wash tub must remain empty during a Clean Cycle. If you inspect the wash tub and it appears to be clear, inspect the area around the door bellow (rubber door seal) for loose items. It is common for small garments, such as socks and underwear to get lodged in the rubber folds. Pull back the folds around the door and inspect the perimeter of the seal. If you need further guidance please let me know. I hope this helps you.

An error F34 how can i solve this problem

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly

Somehow you selected a clean cycle.

http://maytag.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2892/~/display-shows-rl-or-f34---front-load-washer

This error code indicates that items were detected in the washer during the Clean Washer cycle.
The Clean Washer cycle is used to keep the washer fresh and clean. Do not place garments or other items in the washer during the Clean Washer cycle. Use this cycle with an empty washer basket.

If you have a Maytag.... (no model number given so I chose one)

See the Use and Care Guide for details; find it by entering your model number in the search tool below.

Remove the items from the washer.
To remove the error display, press Pause/Off or Pause/Cancel or Power once.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,

My washing machine is a kenmore model W10071750 and it keeps flashing rL. I cannot find this error code in the manual. I tried reloading it and restarting it. That did not work.

It may be a long shot, but it's worth a try before engaging in an expensive service call. Pull the plug - count to 60 - replug. Mine is washing again.

Error code RL keeps occuring when washer is in CLEANER MODE

rl code is load detected in drum during cleaning washer cycle. Book answer is to remove clothes and start the cycle again. Here's everything that Whirpool doesn't want you to know or do to your machine. Don't blame me if you do anything that damages your product. This is a link to the on-line 'technician' only service manual for your washer.
