Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W120 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Sony cyber-shot will not turn on. It has a message to turn off and on. When you do that it still shows the message. You can review pics just not take new ones. The battery is charged.

I'm sorry that the camera is not turning ON. Check if you are able to access the Menu. If yes, then, please Initialize the camera under Main settings 1 Menu. If you are not able to access the menu, you may have to power reset the camera by removing the battery and press n hold the power button for 1 minute continuously. After that leave the button and insert the battery and check if it helps. If the issue still persists, your camera will require service.

I've had that happen to me too. Try pushing the screen display button and it should work again. (It's the 1st button under the mode dial).

SONY- CYBER SHOT W170-VERY LATE RESPONSE - NOT ABLE TO CLICK PICS

Sometimes with these newer cameras that are coming out now the memory card is very important on which brand you use and what the manufacturer recommends . This causes the camera to act weird turn on then off or show blank screens and the shutter to stay extended or so on. It may or may not be the fix but try that in mine i had too much SD gig it did not support and then when i checked manufacturers recommendations they said up to 8 gig and "their brand" and that they never tested off brands to work or not! I hoped that helped.

Its due to slow shutter speed setting.
If you want to take moving object picture, set high speed shutter, there would an icon of golf stick that is for moving object pictures.

Sony cyber shot 7.2

Hi,
Mostly this symptom shws in two ways First is lens and second is main board.Just try it as i said. First dont turn the power on just press PLAY button from which u see the pics.If it turns on and you are able to see picture display on the LCD  then switch it to pictur taking mode.It means that the problem is in lens. And in doing this procedure it shows nothing on the lcd and not go to play mode and message "TURN THE POWER OFF AND ON AGAIN"appears Then the problem is in main board.
Thanks for using fixya.

Turn your power on and off again

Sony Technical Support Team is the first place to ask. This may be a firmware error, in which case the camera will need to be replaced.
