Question about Lexmark X2350 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Not printing Hi my printer is not printing. The light just blinks and the cartridge just zooms from one side to the other. It sounds like it is slamming against the sides. I looked insides and found a strip of some sort that is not hooked up to anything. It is an opaque black strip that is about 24" long and has an opening at each end of it with arrows. Please help.

OK, it sounds like a defective printer that needs to be reset.
Unplug the power to it and replug the power back in to see if it stops doing this.

Lexmark 5400 cartridge carrier slams up against back???? Won't stop!! It's a new printer, put in a high cap black and low cap color cartridge. Any ideas how to fix this?

Cartridges may not be seated properly. Remove all the cartridges from the printer. Close the cover. Unplug the printer from the power source. Wait for about 10-15 seconds. Plug printer back to power source. If printer ink cartridge carrier still slams on the sides, encoder strip of the printer might be damaged. If it's still within warranty from where you bought it, have it replaced at that store. If ink cartridge carrier is not slamming to the sides, re-insert the cartridges. Make sure there are no obstructions along the carrier's path. Close the cover. Let the printer print the alignment page. If it's still going to slam the carrier, have it replaced.

Carriage swings from one side to other

Remove the cartridges from the printer. Close the cover. Unplug the printer from the power source. Wait for about 10-15 seconds before plugging it back in. Once the printer's ready, re-insert the cartridges. Close the cover. It should try to print an alignment page. Let it print the page all the way through without cancelling it. If carrier is not slamming to the sides anymore, problem's resolved. But, when after re-inserting the cartridges and the printer tries to print the alignment and still slamming the carrier to the sides, that sounds more like a mechanical problem and needs to be replaced. If your printer is still within warranty, you can call Lexmark. They might send you a replacement. Good luck!

Google your printer, try This item goes from one side of your printer to the other, passing through the cartridges holder. Look for the places it attaches. You may have to move the cartridge holder to the center to install the plastic.

Both paper and cartrige lights blink & E in coppies won't leave

just replace the cartridges its the cartridge replacement error .or check out in the printer for any paper jam that also gives this E error on the printer.but mostly its the cartridges error.also try cleaning the cartridge before replacing them sometimes the cleaning helps.

Carttridge is slamming against side of printer, light is flashing, no printing, no paper jam

I suspect the problem for both of you is either the blockage of the position sensing path (a slot in the carriage) or the plastic band that is imprinted with many vertical stripes and lets the printer know where it is and needs to go is not where it belongs.
Open the printer as you would to change cartridges and look carefully with a flashlight inside for a thin ~ 6mm (~1/4") plastic strip and insure that it is clean and stretched between both ends. One end is normally anchored to the chassis, the other attached to a spring suspension.
