HI MY NAME IS FRANK AND I AVE THIS LEXMARK X1270 ALL-IN-ONE PRINTER/FAX AND I HAVE BEEN HAVING IT SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR. WELL IT WAS INSTALLED AND WORKED PERFECT AT ONE POINT. WELL I HAD MOVED AND TRIED TO HOOK IT BACK UP THATS WHERE THE PROBLEM ENLIES. EVERTIME I TRIED TO USE THE PRINTER IT GAVE ME A POP-UP STATING THAT MY SPOOLER SERVICE IS OFF AND ASKED IF ID LIKE TO TURN IT ON TO GO FURTHER? WELL IT KEPT SAYING IT AND I DECIDED TO UNINSTALL IT. AFTER I UNINSTALLED IT AND TRIED TO INSTALL IT BACK IT ASKED ME THE SAME QUESTION . WHAT IS "SPOOLER SERVICE" AND WHATS THE PURPOSE OF THIS? WELL I SAID YES TO TURN IT ON WHILE INSTALLING IT AND IT JUST AUTOMATICALLY EXITS WITHOUT INSTALLING. HELP???????? I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO. PLEASE E-MAIL ME [email protected]. THANK YOU
The best option for the printer to make it work would be, remove the existing driver step 1) click on start select settings under that select printers and faxes the dialog box opens remove all the printer drivers from the box by selecting and delete it. once the box is empty, unplug the usb cable from the system, restart the system and then replug the printer after replugging turn on the printer, then reinstall the driver from the driver cd which came with the printer.

The spooler service is used by Windows to queue print jobs for printing. This allows you to send multiple print jobs to the pirnter and each job will wait "on line" on the print queue for printing. It seems that your spooler service may not have been started. Go to control panel>administrative tools->services and ensure that "print spooler" is started. After you have started it, if it's not already started, try running the install again.
