Question about HP LaserJet 1020 Printer
My HP 1020 starting imprinting a line down the right side of paper and making a crackling noise when it prints. At times, it crumbles the paper. Upon cleaning we found shavings--like a metalic film--inside the printer.
I had a similar problem on an hp-3052. I was getting pieces of plastic that were grey and yellow stuck to my pages and all inside the printer then papaer stared jamming. The problem was the fuser sleve which can be picked up on ebay fairly cheap. The bigger problem is installing the sleve over the fuser. I tried the repair my self and broke the fuser assembly. It's a cheap part but a pro should do the install this is definately not a diy fix.
