Question about Compaq Business d530 (PB185US) PC Desktop
i recently re-installed windows xp on my desktop and now when i burn a cd or dvd it runs really slow, i've tried forums and have updated my bios to v3.18 and have followed their help tips but still when i go into device manager>IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers>secondary IDE channel, it still tells me that device 0 in set to PIO mode. the transfer mode is set to DMA if available these are my specs,
HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-H42L
Secondary IIDE channel
intel(R) 82801DB Ultra ATA Storage Controller - 24CB
Supported DMA modes: UDMA 0-4
Current DMA mode: UDMA 4
Appreciate your help,
Those might have been your specs but if you have updated windows some of your drivers autamatically change. Try rolling back the drivers or updating them again. The drivers change frequently when windows hot fixes are dowenn loaded your setting that you had and are trying to set it at are the ones when the system was new.
