Whirlpool Gold Microwave Hood Combo - Model GH4148XS - no power at all
I unplugged and plugges something else in - the outlet works fine
Is there a reset button?
Is there a fuse to replace?
Hi,
I had not been able to find the model number , I assume the model is GH4184XS.
There is no reset button. If the oven has no power at all, then start testing the oven on a different main socket. Use an extension if you don't want to move the appliance. If the power cord is fused (eg. in UK) also test the fuse inside power cord. After doing this preliminary tests , pass to the real troubleshooting.
Check and eventually replace the fuse and the thermal fuse. Both fuses can be tested setting a multimeter at Rx1, and reading impedance at fuse contacts. If the fuse returns infinite Ohms (no continuity) then replace the fuse.
Here the parts:
PS392174 BLOCK-FUSE - part 27 on diagram below. PS1960938 FUSE-THRML - part 28 on diagram below. If fuses are OK, then test the door switches, again with multimeter on Ohms to ensure circuit is opening and closing. Disconnect one of the switch terminals when you do the test. This model has double door safety switch, part 8 and 10 on diagram, check both: PS2338922 . Parts are for GH4184XS. If it is none of the above, then it is either a wiring problem or a faulty control assembly. Power must be disconnected while working on the appliance. If an internal repair on microwave oven is done, a radiation leakage test must be done after the repair. All repairs must be done by a trained technician. Here is the diagram:
Let me know if you have further questions, and please do not forget to leave feedback afterward.
Many thanks.

We just installed a Whirlpool GMH3204XVS and noticed there is something that looks like a seal hanging down between the 2 pieces of glass on the door. Could this be right and is there anyway to fix it?
