Yes it must be grounded and make sure that you are using the correct harness for it, it is very simple just follow what you been doing it should be +, -, ground, antenna, speakers right and left and the amp. , and let me know if that work if not we go to the next step. Please see that grant me your approvals by rating my service and I hope that I can serve you again the future. I will work with you in this issue to conclusion

What's all need to install a aftermarket radio in a 05 Dodge caravan? Been awhile since I did it yrs before but the wife's van radio is going out CD player and radio itself

Radio, aftermarket radio kit(used to mount the radio), and an aftermarket wire plug. This plugs into the radio and your existing harness. Otherwise you have to cut and splice wires. I use a volt /ohm meter to cut and splice.

Have 1974 VW Beetle with wiring mess. Cut wires, missing terminals, poor splices, etc. Would like wiring diagram so I can start chasing wires and fix problems.

You might want to invest into manual (Clymers or Haynes) available at any good parts store - Autozone, Advance, etc or - There are many pages of wiring diagrams and it would be too easy to download wring ones. Get a manual for ease of fix.

Radio stolen from a peugeot 306 and all wires cut how can a new one be fitted

Well it all depends on how bad the wires were cut. If you bought a newer radio, they generally come with a harness. Basically a harness is a plug in with a bunch of cables running out the back of it. You can actually just connect the wires for the new radio straight to the wires from the car. A quick fix would just be to twist the wires together and put electrical tape around the bare wire showing.

Don't cut any wires, they make plugs for almost very car to almost any radio, including just a bunch of cut wires, you can buy these at the auto parts store. Just look up your car, and match up your radio. Check it out.

I have a 96 vw passat i just got a month agao i put in a after market radio in it drove the car to get it inspected didnt pass no dtc's drove the car over 300 miles two tanks of gas took it back for...

Yes, when you put an aftermarket radio, and use an adaptor harness, never use the blue, or blue white wires in the adaptor harness, the are supposed to go to an antenna or amp turn on, but actualy line up with the data wire in the factory harness. if you connect any thing from the radio to the data wire behind the radio, it will mess with your Vw's computor. This is something that you will want to fix now, I have seen many fried control mods/coputors due to this.

How do I disable the seatbelt chime on an '89 VW?

look at the buckle and see if there are two wires going into it. if there is cut those and wire them together. or you can try and follow those wires back until you hit a fuze or something. alot of times though that fuse is shared with something else silly like a dome light or radio though

Are you using the factory wires in the VW to install the stereo? You may have to re-wire the speakers and power, ground wires, etc. with new wire. In a car that old, the wires are probably in bad condition - especially where you can't see. Hope this helps...
