Whislt the belt broke it took some electrical wires with it

The belt has now been replaced and the wries have been fixed again however when i run any programme, its not taking the conditoner and i dont think its running the rinse programming within the cycle some of the other programme cycles also are not working so i am not sure if the electrical wires have been connected properly. Both the fast and short spin cycle work. The guy who repaired it has confirmed that the wires have been connected corectly but i am not sure if this is the case. Are you able to provided me with the electrical set up within a EW1000i washer so that we can double check or do i need to replace this machine?

Sorry to be a pain but we are residents in the UK so not sure if a going to a website/having a phone number would be the best solution. I can confirm that the washing machine is working but doesnt do the rinse programme. A colour version of what wires go where would be greatly appreciated

Where do i locate the Timer so that i can clean the contact switches on Timer . Does that therefore mean that the wires have been fixed back properly?

  • shanaz_bhaiy Oct 03, 2009

Just thought i would say that we live in the UK. Do you think ringing is still the best option. Neither me or my husband are familiar with fixing washing machines, but thought we would give it a go. The guy who replaced the belt and fixed the wires said that as far as he was concerned he did everything that was necessary. I am worried that it may be difficult to get my problem fixed over a call. The more information you can provide/diagram that can be provided the better it will be for us to resolve. Many thanks.

I am not sure what the problem is now. is it
the timer or is it the control panel i dont want to start ordering parts if it could be something else. Do more than 1 expert agree that the problem is the control panel?

The guy who repaired it may be correct as sometimes when the electrical system goes bad it takes some of the electronic components also along with it. May be that the ICs controlling rinse and other systems you are doubting have also gone. They need to be replaced after due inspection. As both the spins work, one could say that the connections MAY be OK.

The problem is going to be in your Timer go back and clean contact switches on Timer . Most of the repair men here just tell people they will not work on the front loaders they run into to many problems ! I will do some Checking just to make sure ,but if their is anyone who does this for a living then see what they may have to say about it ! But I say Problem is in Timer.

  • If you took the drum out and took the belt off you may have put the belt on wrong as there is a switch under the drive or idler pulley that must be pushed on from the pressure of the belt on the pulley. Also go and make sure both breakers are ok in the breaker box as it runs on a 220 volt sys. and if one is tripped this type of thing can occur.
  • Good luck and please rate me if this helped! thanks again for choosing fixya

Thump

The drive belt broke and the thumping was caused by a flatten roller on the belt tensioner. Replace the tensioner pulley and the belt to get it running like new again

To test connectivity, stuck a similar size wire to both connection end and try to start it again, if it works try to replace the wire. Else check your fuel systems.

Vacuum smells like rubber burning. Replaced belt. same result

My vacuum's belt fell off, So I fixed it. Two days later my vacuum wouldn't turn on, so I opened it up again and took out a dust ball in between the electrical wires. I turned it on and sparks and snapping sounds came form the motor. Also burning rubber smell, What wrong? Is my vacuum fixable?, or should I buy a new vacuum?

I have a 2000 Lincoln Towncar. The air-conditioner compressor broke and also broke that big belt. A guy that lives near replaced the compressor and belt but now nothing electric works!!!! whats wrong!!!!!...

He may have accidently knocked some wires loose during the install or when your belt flew off the pullies it hit some wires and broke them. Check for wire damage around the pullies.

Cooling fans will not work

No need to replace the compressor. That will solve nothing. The electrical wire connection to the compressor clutch can be replaced.

Cranks but wont turn over

you know. i took it to a mechanic and actually.... The timing belt cut the Crank Shaft Censor... So it was the crank shaft censor again. The wires were routed wrong from the first mechanic that "fixed" the car.

HP PSC 2175 Cartridge Belt

Ok, I will try to explain how I fixed mine as best as I can. I took it all apart and realizing that the belt moved the cartridge carriage I thought 'hmmmm' and took the belt, cleaned it and the cartridge carriage and in the channel on the carriage where the belt sits (sort of W shaped) I put some 'Gorilla glue' and put the broken ends down into the glue. I let it set up for about 6 hours and my printer has been back up and running ever since. That fixed the broken cartridge carriage belt for me. Now if the other belt breaks then I guess I will have to break down and buy another printer but after 6 years of service I can't complain. And yes I have been refilling now for over 4 years. I hope this helps.
