Question about Brother LS-2125 Mechanical Sewing Machine

1 Answer

My machine is a Brother XL5600; I think I am having a shuttle hook problem. When I lower the sewing needle to "catch" the bobbin thread and pull through- it won't catch and pull through. I have changed out bobbins and needles. While trying to perform this task, and observing, it almost appears as if the needle is too short, but I have purchase new and correct needles. Please help. Thanx.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. The upper thread could be tangled. Remove the thread completely from the machine. The correct size spool cap should be used for the size of the thread spool. Re-thread the machine according to the directions in the manual.

Place a spool of thread on a spool pin and check the upper threading.
Remove the bobbin and make sure the bobbin is threaded properly in the shuttle race. Remove any loose threads or lint in the shuttle race.

Also please check that the bobbin is installed in its case rightly. Needle thread is too tight. Hold the thread lightly to keep the end from going down into the shuttle.

The needle could be thread incorrectly. Thread the needle eye from the front to the back.
The needle could be bent or improperly inserted and install a new needle with the flat side of the needle facing the back.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

MY THREAD GETTING WRAPPED AROUND THE BOBBING WHEN TRYING TO SEW THE TOP THREAD WRAPPING AROUND THE BOBBING CASE AND DRAGGING CAUSING THE TOP THREAD TO BREAK ?

It sounds like the lower shuttle is out of place. You should be able to take out the bobbin case and unlatch the shuttle. It will probably be in 2 pieces. Clean out the dust behind it and replace the shuttle pieces. You may have to fiddle with it a little to get them back in place. Then you can test it by manually turning the wheel. Make sure the bobbin is placed into the bobbin case and that the bobbin turns in the direction that you pull the thread.

Good luck.

Bobbin shuttle

1. Clean shuttle with your sewing machine brush to remove old broken threads, lint, and sweep out the feed dogs carefully. 2. Rethread making sure you have the handwheel turned toward you, all the way up. 3. Lift presser foot up BEFORE you put thread front to back in eye needle. 4. Set machine on straight stitch sewing. Attach straight stitch foot if necessary. 5. Make sure 5-6 inches of thread are pulled toward you from threaded needle. 6. Pull up bobbin thread. 7. Pull 5-6 inches of bobbin thread and put it, along with needle thread under presser foot. 8. Put fabric scrap under presser presser foot and LOWER it now. Make sure, too, that the needle is correct size for fabric you're sewing. 9. Do a test. You may need to set tension at 4, stitch length at about 4 and width at 6. Just test it and adjust tension in very, very short turns. Another tip: Put one drop of good quality sewing machine oil on the hook, lower left-hand side. Make sure when you thread bobbin in the bobbin case to hold bobbin between thumb and forefinger and pull out about 4 inches of thread after you make sure thread unwinds top left (if you are right-handed!). Guide the thread into the slot in edge of bobbin case (screw sits on top of this "edge". Pull thread under tension spring and then into the delivery eye. Never panic, my friend! Try this and see if this helps. You should probably insert new needle too--just in case "old" one bent. Jimmy

HOW TO THREAD THE BOBBIN ON THE BROTHER VX-1250!

Hello

Place a spool of thread over the spool pin, which is a vertical spoke located at the back-right of the top of the sewing machine.

Take the end of the thread from the spool and carry it left along the top of the machine and around the bobbin winding tension disc, which resembles a small button.

Pass the end of the thread through the small hole in the side of an empty bobbin, threading from the inside. Push the bobbin down onto the bobbin winding shaft, which is a small metal spoke at the front-right of the top of the sewing machine.

Click the bobbin over to the right, then manually twist it in a clockwise direction until you hear the spring on the bobbin shaft click into place.

While pinching the end of the thread that is coming out of the hole in the side of the bobbin, slowly press your foot down on the foot controller so that the thread from the spool winds around the bobbin. Let go of the thread end and continue pressing until the machine stops automatically, which means the bobbin is full, or when the bobbin has as much thread as you need for your project.

Cut the thread connecting the bobbin and the spool, and trim the thread end coming out of the hole in the side of the bobbin. Click the bobbin over to the left and remove it from the bobbin shaft.

The Lower Thread;

Turn the balance wheel (the disc at the top of the right side of the sewing machine) toward you to raise the needle to its highest point. Lift the presser foot with the lever located behind the needle shaft. Remove the extension table, if it is attached.

Open the shuttle cover, a small door located on the front of the sewing machine, underneath the needle. Remove the bobbin case, which you see held in the center of the shuttle race, by pulling the hinged latch on the front of it.

Pull about 4 inches of thread from the bobbin and press the bobbin into the bobbin case so that it will turn clockwise when you pull on the thread end. Slide the thread into the slot on the side of the bobbin case, over the tiny tension spring and into the delivery eye.

Hold the bobbin case by its latch so that the metal finger is pointing upward. Press the bobbin case -- with the bobbin inside -- into the shuttle race. The metal finger should fit into a vertical notch at the top of the shuttle race, and the bobbin case should be held securely in place.

Close the shuttle cover.

The Upper Thread;

Rotate the balance wheel toward you until you see the take-up lever raised to its highest position. The take-up lever has a metal loop at the end of a narrow spoke, and it will emerge from the top of the thread guide, the vertical **** at the front of the machine above the needle.

Take the end of the thread from the spool and take it left along the top of the sewing machine, around the rear thread guide, then toward yourself and around the front thread guide.

Take the thread down the front of the machine and from right to left around the tension control dial, which is the round knob to the right of the needle. Pull the end of the thread so that the part that passes around the tension control dial is taut and flush with the front of the machine. You should feel the thread slip between the two tension discs.

Carry the end of the thread upward from the tension control dial and through the eyelet at the end of the take-up lever. Bring the thread downward and hook it behind the thread guide, which is a small wire loop at the top of the needle. Insert the thread end through the eye of the needle from front to bac

Pull a tail of about 4 inches through the needle and pinch the end of it with your left fingers. Turn the balance wheel toward you with your right hand until you see the needle lower through the needle plate then rise back up again. You should see the lower thread looped around the upper thread. Untangle it and pull both thread ends until they have approximately 6-inch long tails.

Brother pe 150 needle wont pick up thread from bobbin changed needle

Check that the needle is in the right way, flat shank to the back. If it is around backwards, the shuttle hook won't be catching the thread at the back of the needle to form the stitch.

I have a brother pe 770 and the bobbin will not catch the thread. The thread will wrapped and tangled up around the bobbin case and bobbin, but will not catch the bobbin at all. I chcked the needle, it is...

You need to sew the first stitch slowly. Lower the needle by hand and take up carefully. Pull the needle thread up and the bobbin thread should be caught in the formed loop and come with it. Pull them both to the back of the machine and sew.

The bobbin thread will not catch with the top thread i have cleaned and oiled the machine any suggestions

Here is a list of things to check, don't think there ok check and make certain there right: Right Needle length, needle in all the way, needle in with the scarf facing the right way. The way a sewing machine works is the needle passes through the material bringing the thread down to the shuttle, when the needle begins to travel back up it creats a hoop on the side of the needle at that time the hook should pass and catch that hoop carriing the top thread around the shuttle creating a lock stitch. if it is not all happening at the right time it ain't happenin'.

Bobbin thread won't engage.

The bobbin case is not in the shuttle.

Raise the needle to it's highest position.

Lift the lever on the back of the bobbin case and hold it open as you insert the case into the shuttle; arm on the case pointing up. You may have to turn a bit to the left or right - it will click when in place.

Singer Model 5050 Timing Problem

Actually, timing of needle vs, shuttle is not very easy job several factor you should check on.There is belt ot sometime a shafting with worm gear and helical gear under machine w/c drive the shuttle with the bobbins in timing order,Any one of them is present on the timing adjustment can be done by releasing the belt or the helical gear, besure machine is unplug then set all mechanism on low dead center meaning the needle move to utmost lower position catching this by the shuttle and bobbins at center position. No motion applied if this was set up,engage the belt with pulley and the bobbins link holder tigh allenscrew besure the needle is lower dead center at the center of shullle bobbins catching needle without motion when setting back at original position. If this was made manually move it on handwheel going up and side down the needle gradually if the needle move freely several time and it was catching this by the shuttle hook bobbins.if ok put thread bobbins and upper thread dial tension with the needle.Move machine on handwheel try to catch the bobbins thread,If this so your machine is ready to sew again if problem occurs on alignment repeat adjustment on perpect alignment, besure all parts on upper casing of machine specially two drive gear are in normal alignment.

Brother VX-1120- The needle is not picking up bobbin thread.

I had the same problem with my brother vx-1120 sewing machine. I set the needle to lowest position by using the hand crank. Then I loosened the knerled set screw that holds needle in place. Then I moved needle shaft till the eye of needle is just lower than the hook on the shuttle loop maker. It made my mechine work. There are instuctions for ajusting timing on machine but I think these mechines are built to not fix and throw out. Just because there where no ajustment marks at all on machine, any machanical machine will needed to be ajusted sometime.
