Question about Hitachi 57F500 57" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
Hi my name is Eric,
I hope I can help you with your issue ,
Something is shorted causing the shutdown circuits to
be kicking the set off.
Most likely cause the convergence ICs, do a visual of the resistors near the ICs on the large heatsink with fins on it, If any are burnt thats your problem.
they are part # STK392-110
Do a google search to find some.
If none are burnt the ICs may still be bad or the sweep board may be causing the issue.
These aren't easy to fix yourself, a repairman would charge between $300-$650 depending on if its just the ICs or the sweep board

the under the screen next to the on/off switch keeps flashing, then there may be an
internal fault on the set that needs to be reset.
To force the reset, try this:

i think its the fan that needs to be replaced. or it could be the bulb.
Try to open the bulb assembly unit and take out the bulb and put it back in. If you have an extra bulb, replace it and see if works. This worked for me. The bulb i bought wasnt compatible

Have you replaced the lamp ? Make sure the door cover is closed good because there is a switch that is made when the door cover is put back on. Also you could have a bad ballast board or bad power unit board. Just a thought...... Hope this is helpful.
