Question about Olympus Stylus 800 / ? 800 Digital Camera
When i turn on my olympus stylus 800 camera, the screen displays black....
what i observed is that the outer lens upon turning on will come out but lens inside is not opening..... thus it cant receive light......
how could i fix it?
Fair reasoning but I suspect incorrect.
The screen remaining black- do you mean that it shows no menu item either? or are you getting those but no image? clarify.
If you are getting nothing- is there a hint of 'shadow' images but not illuminated?
It nothing at all then this is an indication of a connector/ main board failure.
Lens not appearing could be the drive motor has stalled.
But the two items together could also mean something much easier to resolve- The battery[s] is not delivering enough power.
Clean the battery contacts. Make sure it is of the correct value as in the manual - if you have replaced it recently .
If that fails it may be new camera time as the likely cost of a repair will be high.
