Question about Delphi Roady XT XM Radio Receiver

Delphi Roady XT Radio won't turn on

Hello,

My Delphi Roady XT (XM Radio) receiver won't turn on. When the power button is pressed the screen flashes on for about 0.5 second, then goes blank. After three or four attempts the screen won't flash at all. I have checked the power connection and it appears to be fine (I'm using the home kit, so it's plugged into AC power with the home satellite antenna). The unit has been reliable up to this point.

Thanks for any help you can send my way.

Same problem. Worked fine for about a year. Now I press the on button and it just flashes on and back off. Thanks

Unit will not turn on. Flashes and immediately goes out. Holding the on button down will make it flash every 5+ seconds and it may eventually turn on. When on it will work fine (off and on). Remedy ASAP. Will not consider a Delphi in the future unless resolved.

Unit will not come on. If button held it will flash about every 5+ seconds and maybe come on. If it comes on it will be good and work all day (on & off). Turn it off for the day and it starts all over. Fix ASAP. Will not consider a Delphi in the future unless resolved.

Same problem here. Delphi Roady XT Radio won't turn on. If the on button is pressed for a minute or two it will finally come on. Tried the cradle in the car and same problem. The receiver is about 1-1/2 years old. The problem seems to be with the receiver.

Press the On button and it flashes and goes off, as others have described, but put a different Roady XT XM and it works fine.

My Delphi Roady XT just stopped working. The only thing it does is show "XM Satellite Radio" on the screen. No lights come on and no buttons work. Is there anything I can do? There is no reset button...

Its probably time to just replace it. They are not worth repairing. If you contact XM customer service they may offer you one at a discount. They replaced one of mine for $20. I thought that was a fair deal.

When I press the power button the screen flashes once & then goes blank again. Some times I see a quick flash of "XM-Radio" This started happening overnight one night-nochanges on our part.

I had exactly the same problem with my Roady XT. The power supply gradually failed, with the symptom that the reception kept getting weaker and more spotty. Finally, the Roady would not turn on. The screen flashed as you describe. I happened to have another 5VDC, 2A power supply in the closet from some other electronic gismo from the past (I save the power supplies just in case). the connector on the old power supply was not correct for the Roady XT, but a little surgery put the new plug on the old supply... (verified by a volt meter). When I plugged it in the Roady quickly turned on and showed full signal strength. This had never happened in 2 years of use. Apparently this radio needs more power than the stock power supply can provide. Now it "loads" stations in 2-3 seconds and never fades.

i figured it out with help from a delphi service rep.! you need to go into the menu and reset to factory default.this will erase everything you have changed from the factory settings, but once done you can reprogram your settings and they will stay. step 1-enter menu step 2-reset factory default settings step 3-reprogram your preset stations,FM freq. colors etc. step 4-use power button on the roady to turn it off.once the roady shuts down turn it back on with the power button. step 4-now you should be able to turn the key off without erasing your presets.

Chances are it's not picking up the XM signal. First, contact XM to resend your setup. if that doesn't work check your antenna connections.
