Not with any standard GPS You need "Tracker" which records the total trips and stops af a vehicle. For a fee you can monitor it on the Internet.

Error code with softward

Hi Guys,

If you are using tomtom home 1.5 and also have tomtom home 2.5 installed, you will need to remove one of the versions of home from your computer because both versions of home use the same folder tomtom that is stored in my documents.

If you are using the tomtom go720 device, uninstall tomtom home (without the number 2 at the end)

tomtom home 1.5 with the options menu on the left hand side is not needed for your device since it has been for PDA use only.

Hope this helps

Thanks,
Pabs

Formatting a tomtom go 710

Hi, I probably cant answer all of your questions but I might help with some of them. You should be able to access your TomTom 710 without removing TomTom home software from your PC. It should be accesses as a drive through the USB connection in "my computer" on your PC. When a USB device is connected to your PC it appears as an external drive. Therefore you should be able to delete , load onto , or format the TomTom hard drive ( or with some other models the SD card ) as you would a normal drive . ( an example of this is where you might have a camer with SD memory card and relevant manufacturers software on your PC . you might connect your camera to the PC via USB and the camera software on your PC automaticly detects the camera for it to eb accesssed . However , the camera and it's SD card can also be accessed seperatly by going to "MY Compter" and it should also be visible there as an external UDB device / external drive ) . Now .. to another another question . If you do un-install TomTom home , I dont think it will also delete any backup of your TomTom , it will only delete TomTom Home software . ( the word "think" is mentioned because I have never tried this ). Besides that , you can choose in tomtom home , where you want any backups to reside , so you could save backups via TomTom home to a CD for istance. If you did that , then you would have the backup on a CD rather than your harddrive which means you could safely un-install TomTom home knowing that if it also removed any saved backup you would still have the CD with a backup on it. So , to summerise.... If it were me , I would make a backup of the TomTom by simply copying all the files on it by opening the TomTom up as a folder in "MY Computer" , simply drag any files and folders from the TomTom into a folder I have prepaired ( call it for instance "my tomtom backup" ) on my PC . Then I would format the TomTom drive then reinstall the backup and see what happens. If the TomTom still doesnt work properly , I would Format the tomtom again then use TomTom home to obtain all relivant files , then copy only the maps and .MAC files ( these are the authorisation files for the maps ) from my Backup to the TomTom manually ( not from tomtom home ). I would guess that would result in a working TomTom again ... Good luck.

Flashing Cross and Re-formatting

Hi, I take it that what you mean by website is " The TomTom" website ?
Before formatting you should have backed up the files from your TomTom or you have a CD / DVD with the files on ( same files on that disk as were on your TomTom's hard drive ) . After formatting it should be a simple task to re-install the files back onto your TomTom but you might then have to re-authorise the maps using the number on the card that came with your TomTom ( looks similar to a credit card ) . It is also possible to download the files from TomTom website . You can do this using TomTom home as it does most of the work for you , or you can hunt around on the TomTom website and download each file required ( but you would need to know the file names ) direct to your PC . Once you have the files you can then upload them to your TomTom directly ( when connected to your PC , the tomtom will appear in "My Computer" as a USB drive ) so it's a simple matetr of dragging and dropping the files . Again , once you have all the files on your TomTom you will likely need to activate the maps again using the product code on the credit card thing that came with your TomTom. Good Luck.

GPS on hp6515

Hi,
Firstly the GPS on this model is not a standard GPS, it uses AGPS which requires an update to be performed either ever 2 or 10 days, depending on the rom version of the ipaq.

This annoying thing normaly occurs when the update is out of date. On the home screen, in the bottom right hand corner, you will see a circular icon with grid lines and a dot in it. If it is blue the update is good, grey means it is out of date.

There are several ways to update this, the easiest being having your iPaq connected to active sync, then tapping the above icon, tapping download now.

However, if you have recently performed a soft reset, you will need to perform a hard reset to resolve the issue (this will wipe all your data so back up first!!!) Then re-install tomtom and try again.

TomTom ONE

uninstall tomtom home from your computer & restart, then reinstall it from scratch.

This should fix it.
