Sounds like a head blockage if your cartridges arnt empty, try turning the printer off at the wall socket as it it in motion, ie not in its docking area and cleaning off any debris from the rubber squeegee just to the left of the pad that printer head purges ink into, run a nozzel clean/head clean from your computer, epson printer tray icon in xp will lead you to this funtionality and see if it improves, if not theres some more intensive treatment to be carried out

You need to run two types of cleaning to the unit the first one via the software and that by self cleaning and alignment the second one by hand and that by taking both inks out and cleaning the ink using soft dry cloth and make sure the vent hole is clear on them then with cotton swaps clean the housing from inside and reset the printer. I will be working with you to conclusions of this issue. Please see that grant me your approvals by rating my service and I hope that I can serve you again the future.

Printer has ink but not printing at all. Paper goes through the printer but nothing on the paper.

Remove your color/black catridge and rub their head with toilet paper/soft paper neatly until the ink stain on the paper. On the same way it also caused by ink over flow. To solve the ink over flow rub it carefully.. thanks

Why is my black ink cartridge not printing black ink color is working.

Out of ink?
If a new cartridge, ensure that the protective 'covers' are removed from both the ink outlet and another which covers a small hole, there for air to enter which allows the flow of ink.

Refilled black ink cartrige and i can't get it to print at all. done more deep cleans than i want to remember, still will not print. done nozzle clean also. i have refilled this cartrige several times...

You may need a newer cartridge
See if the printhead has any abnomal markings.
You can compare it with the color printhead.
If the printhead is good, see if the ink is flowing through the printhead.
Fill the ink cartridge to maximum
Squeeze the sides of the ink cartridge, ink should flow out.
If ink is flowing out, remove any excessive ink with a paper towel.
Install ink cartridges, do NOT do any cleaning cycle.
Since your black cartridge is full, cleaning may cause it not to print.
Do some black copy operations.

Mfc 290, replaced ink cartridges and the black will not print only the colors. printer cleaned and no progress. any help?

You could clean the black ink cartridge. For this you need to remove the black ink cartridge which is present in the printer. In order to clean the laser or scanner block you could use a cotton swab as it would fully clean the dirt. You need to clean the grime and the dried ink present in the printer. This would remove all the hindrances which prevent the ink from flowing. Cleaning the printer heads would also help to solve the problem.

My colored ink needs to be replaced, however, I still have black ink, why will the printer not let me print in black and white, there is no grayscale.I can't print at all unless I replace the colored ink.

The issue is the printhead needs constant flow, I have seen bypasses but this damages the print head and all kinda of mess happends. The solutions here is a grey scale laserjet if your only use black ink. Your would be alot better off because this printer mix inks to make black and vice versa, So you need to fork out the bucks for the color cartridge or change the solution to toner if you do not use color. Yes there is a bypass but we are not aloud to provide that because it will dmage you unit and we cannot be liable for that Google is your friend!

Thanks and please do be considerate and leave postive ratings and feedback for your free answer today.

I have a dell printer A960 I refilled color cartridge and have not used it for about 2 months and now it only prints in red what can I do

The print heads on your ink cartridges have dried up. Ink printers need to print in black and white and color once a week. Doing this will extend the usable life of your cartridge because the ink will not dry on the print head and clog it. You can try and get the ink flowing yourself by resting the print head on a warm moist paper towel until you see ink on the towel (ink stains most surfaces so be careful where you do this). To check your progress, press the print head into a dry paper towel. You should see three entire distinct colors for the color cartridge and one black line for the black cartridge. If you can't get it flowing again you will need to buy new cartridges. You can get Dell refills from Cartridge World if you would like to save some money.
