Hi,

First check whether your shutter is fully opened when you take photos, If the shutter is half shut, try opening the Shutter in hand and try taking photos. If this is the problem, Try blowing air near the shutter door..It may be due to small dust particles.

OR

If your shutter is fully opened and you can see the photos in full in your Display, it states that there is some problem with the image precessing sensor, YOu have to mail your product to the Canon center for serviceing it.

OR
If your shutter is fully opened and you dont see half of the image even in the Display, its problem with the CCD, you have to mail your camera to Canon to make it right...

Please leaveme comment,if you need furthur assistance

Delete button not working ( Canon EOS 400D )

1) Put lens or camera cap on, go to a dark room to be sure if you want
2) Take JPG+RAW shot, maybe at different ISO and shutter speeds, one could be 30 sec/ISO 1600
3) Press menu, go to Settings 2 tab, and press sensor Cleaning: Manual, then OK. Wait for 30 seconds or more (is this necessary?) The mirror inside opens, but since you are not removing dust, this has really no effect, but it seems that after doing this, the camera remaps the dead pixels.
4) Take another JPG+RAW shot, compare with shots from 2) - same shutter and ISO

My Canon EOS 400D won't switch on. No power.

Have you tried cleaning the battery contacts in the camera with a cotton swab lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol? Are the batteries also 3 years old?

If the picture is taken vertically in EOS 400D SLR, there will be a black shade appearing in right side of the image. This issue was not there earlier. In recent times it started happening. It works fine...

I would be interested in seeing the dark image... check that its not the camera strap or some other part of your own pereson. Hold the camera UNDER the lens and take a vertical, noting where the camera strap is at the time. Perhaps put an example on one of the free photo sites and send us the link.
There is nothing inside a camera that should move and put a dark image on any pic.

Sometimes when i'm taking picture my flash wont stop blinking for a few seconds.

The 400D uses flash assisted focusing. In low light conditions the auto focus cannot get a focus lock so it pops the flash a few times so the lens has a chance to focus. You will notice this will go away when in the manual focus mode (the switch on the side of the lens).

The only way around this problem (as people in a photo think the photo has already been taken and looks away when the camera actually takes the picture) is to use a hotshoe mounted TTL Canon Speedlight (430ex or 580ex) which use an infra-red focussing beam.

Completely dark photo, only showing top 1/4 of pic, remaining 3/4 is dark, this only happened after I cleaned the mirror, which has been done many times before and had no problems in doing so, please

Hi there,
there is no problem with your cam for sure. you must have changed the setting of the cam adjust the shutterspeed and the aparture. and your problem will be solved... or dont keep the cam on manual mode.. keep it on automatic settings and it should work. also check out this link to learn more about how to use aparture and shutterspeed..... http://www.learnslr.com/slr-beginner-guide/digital-slr-learning-guide/av-mode-aperture-priority

I have an EOS Canon 400D digital SLR and my husband has bought me a Sony photo printer DDP-FP75 . I had wanted to be able to insert the memory card but it doesn't seem compatible. Can I print using the...

The two are not immediately compatible. The Canon EOS 400D uses a Compact Flash card. The Sony Photo Printer you have accepts SD and Memory Stick cards. Unfortunately, the CF card and SD card are very different.

The easiest solution I can think of would be for you to get an inexpensive card reader (make sure it accepts Compact Flash cards), attach it to your PC and then use it to read the CF card from your Canon EOS -- and print to your Sony printer.

I hope this helps. If it does, please rate the solution offered. My goal is always FixYa or Helpful, never TFT or IA. Regards,

Canon EOS 400D

Gosh Megz, That's prolly more than anyone wants to type. Go to the Library or a book store. I'll try to explain white balance for you. Inside the camera is a program that evaluates the light during exposure. It tries to determine what is white and adjust the other colors in the photos accordingly by adjusting tint and temperature. Your eyes and brain do this for you. If you have a tripod try taking a photo in automatic mode and write down what the shutter speed and f stop was for that photo. Adjust your camera to those settings manually and take the same photo over. This way you will get a consistent photo to look at. Then change your color balance to different settings like daylight, cloudy, shade, tungsten (which is incandescent lighting) and fluorescent and view the difference in colors after you download to your image viewer on your computer. You'll think you went back to the late 60's.

Canon eos digital canon rebel xti - LCD won't work when shooting

Most DSLR cameras (like your Canon) don't have a live view - in other words, you can't "see" the image before you capture it. You must use the viewfinder.
