Question about Refrigerators
I have a Kenmore side by side Model 106.55606400.
The Ice maker is not working. The fingers were @ 6:00.
I removed the ice maker and hooked it to a 120 outlet.
The ice make ran and completed it's cycle. The infrared
light and switch appear to be working. I got only 108 volts
on the volt meter when I checked the ice maker receptacle.
What would make the voltage low?
The icemaker will run at 120v ac +- 10% so 108 v is within range altho marginally. since you have the icemaker removed. remove the front cover and check to see if the drive gear is broken or if the 2 center pins that hold the gear in place are twisted or broken. this is most likely the problem. the motor module can be replace very easily part # is 8201515
the normal home position for this icemaker is at the 2:00 position facing the front of the icemaker. if it is any other position the motor module is almost always the culprit..
