You can order a new gasket seal here.

http://www.frigidaire.com/partsdistributorlocator

They are very easy to replace if you choose to do it yourself. You may expect a 50 to 75 dollar service charge if you have a local repairman do it.

It will be cheaper for you if you already have the part there for them.

Well without knowing the model or configuration, (upright, or chest), there are only a few possibilities. 1 - if the seal is magnetic, then its lost is magnetism. 2 - if it has electric door seal heaters, then they are defective, and need to be replaced. 3 - if the seal itself is damaged, ripped or torn then the air penetration will cause this, espescially if the surrounding air is humid. 4 - If it's an upright, then the unit might not be leveled properly to allow sufficient closing pressure.

The frost free freezer has started to form ice

First point of investigation, is to check the door seal. Sometimes new seals get stuck-suction and when opened and shut possibly cause a small tear, lubricate very gently with Vaseline, this will enable the seal to firstly seal properly and secondly not put undue pressure due to suction on new door seals.
If that does not resolve it then have a technician check the thermostat.

There is ice forming on the inside back wall of the freezer. What does this mean? Would it cause the refrigerator alarm (beeping noise) to go off?

It usually means that your door is either not closing properly or the seal is deformed. Moist air is getting in and condenses on the coldest surface at the back of the freezer. Check that the freezer is not too full (stopping door from closing fully) and check the door-seal.

Sometimes it is caused by icing of the thermostat. Ice is a good thermal insulator so the thermostat does not switch and the freezer keeps running constantly. Make sure there is adequate air circulation and no ice around the thermostat.

Defrosting usually fixes either problem.

What causes snow to form in freezer

Hi Friend, this is Z. Thank you for your post!

Often when frost accumulates in the freezer compartment it is due to warm moist air. You may either be looking at a poor door seal or air leaks. Try checking this by placing a dollar between the body of the freezer and the door. Now close the door. The dollar bill should stay in place and pull out with a small amount of resistance. If the dollar bill falls out when placed between the gasket and cabinet double check to see if the door is being blocked by anything stopping it from closing. If nothing is stopping the door then the gasket may need replacing. Lastly, if the above solutions do not work and frost continues to be an issue, the defrost control may not be working properly. At this point, I would recommend reaching out to a professional to proceed further.

I have ice forming on the top of the freezer door and on the to of the freezer. What is causing this and how can I fix it?

ice forming on the outside of a door is a sure sign that the door seals are not air tight(flat against the body)use a hot cloth to mould the seals to fit......

Ice maker hanges up ice forms on blades

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly.

Usually when ice (teardrops) form on the sweep blades it can be caused by a couple of things.

1. A dirty freezer door seal
2. A torn freezer door seal
3. Separation in the freezer door.
4, Calcium build up on the sweep blades.

Give the door seal a serious look for dirt and tears.

If the door seal looks ok and is clean then...

Wash the icemaker sweep blades with a mixture of vinegar and water. Give the freezer door some attention with that same mixture. Oils from hands or food can prevent a good seal on the freezer door. Just make sure you clean the icemaker sweep blades FIrst...

Do not use a new scotch brite pad on the sweep blades. USE an OLD one.... scratches on sweep baldes invite condensation when the door is opened.

Make sure to toss the next few cycles of ice cubes.

Doing the above should stop the ice build up on the sweep blades unless you have folks or visitors in the home that love holding the freezer door open for longer than normal.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Kelly

Frost forms on top of food in my freezer (top of refrigerator)...even inside sealed bags of items like microwave Stouffer's, etc. Sometimes up to 1/4" thick! No frost on inside of freezer though. ?????

This excess frosting can be caused by leaky door gaskets, frequent door opening, dispenser door not closing good, anywhere air can get in. Gaskets should hold a dollar bill sung all the way around both doors.

Door doesn't close properly, leaks water

If the door seals are still pliable and intact there are two possible causes.

1/ The upper door hinge on the top of freezer unit has two adjusting screws under a plastic cover/cap which allows the upper hinge to be set forward or back altering/adjusting the spacing of the door seal to the freezer body. Moving the hinge outward at the top will cause the door to seal tighter at the bottom and lessen escaping cold air and condensation to form (water droplets). Adjust carefully so as not to create a weak seal (air gap) along other sealing edges of the door frame.

2/ Many United Refrigeration Commercial Freezers are manual defrosting. Moisture from inside the freezer can condense between the inner molded door panel (door shelves) and the exterior metal door. Usually ice buildup will occur in this space, but when defrosting or during high ambient temps the ice will melt and drip out along the bottom door edge/seal. Screws alomg the door frame (hidden by the door seal) hold the seal in place and also the inner molded door panel. The inner panel can be removed to replace the seal or to remove the ice buildup.

Hi, Check the door seal.

Ice is often caused by warm, moist air getting into the freezer and condensating, then freezing.
