Question about Garden
I have a snapper S31SST weed eater. It is 4-5 years old and been very reliable. Yesterday it ran about 20 minutes and shut down. It would not restart. This morning after cooling it would not start. In fact it is not hitting at all. It sounds normal when I pull the cord but no hit. I have checked and cleaned plug. Please advise best course to diagnose...
Remove spark plug and check for fire with a spark tester. (some inline models are also available and safer since the spark plug stays in place using those types)
If no spark:
Remove covers and unplug small kill-circuit wire(s) from ignition coil...Test for spark.
If you have spark the switch needs replacing.
If you have no spark the coil needs replacing.
Hope this helps.
